Defence

Defender (green 1) attapts to intercept ball passed between 3 static players. Important that 3 players are not to far away from each other.

Players work in groups of 4, with 3 attackers forming a triangle, standing 1.5 meters apart and one defender stood in the middle. The ball is passed in any direction between the 3 attackers. The defender must use fast feet to follow the passes and try to intercept the ball.

Players work in pairs with one ball and three cones, placed in a triangle. The feeder stands above the top of the triangle. Using quick, small steps the worker has to rotate around the cones in a figure of 8 before then receiving the ball and returning it to the feeder at the top of the triangle.

The defender (green 1) attempts to intercept the ball as it is passed between 3 static players. It's important that the three attacking players are not standing too far away from each other. Focus on the defender.

One Handed Pass and Catch

One player always passes the ball straight and the other always passes the ball diagonally. Both players are catching and throwing the ball with one hand and at shoulder height.

Prevent the middle Pass

Players work in groups of 5 - 3 passing players on the outside of the triangle, one attacking player in the middle and one defender who is marking the central player. The defender has to prevent the attacker from getting free to receive a pass from the outside players.

2 teams (standing alternate) 2 balls. 1 team starts passing the ball in one direction around their team. The other team then passes their ball the same way to try and overtake the ball from the team that started.

Divide your group into three equal groups.Play starts with the ball at the bottom end of the triangle, while the two players at the other end will come forward ready to offer to receive a pass.Once the ball is passed, the player who didn't receive the ball should drive to be in space to receive another pass.Finally the player who started with the ball needs to make a move to receive the pass.Once all three players have received the ball the ball is passes to the next group of players, ready for the drill to start again.This drill is ideal for teaching players to offer a passing option to their team-mates.

Set up a triangle of attackers (3m apart) with a defender in the middle of them.The person at the top of the triangle starts with the ball, passes to one of the other attackers and runs into the triangle to receive the ball back. They then pass again to either attacker and cross the bottom line of the triangle to be outside of the triangle. They receive the ball back again and the first attacker they passed to runs to take their space at the top of the triangle. The attacker behind the line passes the ball to the new top attacker, takes the free space and the drill repeats.

Set up a triangle with cones. 2 players are attackers, 2 are defenders.Attacker starts on the top of the triangle and the other starts on one of the bottom corners.They are defended by 2 defenders the whole time.The person at the top of the triangle starts with the ball, passes to the other attacker and runs into the triangle to receive the ball back. Again they pass to the other attacker and cross the bottom line of the triangle to be outside of the triangle.They receive the ball back again and the other attacker runs to take their space at the top of the triangle. The attacker behind the line passes the ball to the new top attacker, takes one of the bottom corner spaces and the drill repeats.

Get into 4's with 1 ball 3 players will create a triangle shape and will each be a feeder One feeder will start with the ball (in the example, the player at the top of the triangle) The worker will receive 3 balls from each post:<br>1) The feeder will simple drop the ball, the worker will need to drive forward to collect the ball and pass it back to the feeder <br>2) The second ball will be over the workers head - so the worker will drive back on an angle towards one of the spare feeders and intercept the pass. The ball will then be passed back back to the feeder <br>3) For the final ball the spare feeder (who the worker did not drive towards) will enter the triangle. The worker will need to cut across and intercept the pass Once the worker has recieved all 3 balls from that post they will move onto the next post and do the same 3 balls Once all 3 posts have been used (so the worker has recieved 9 balls) they can switch out

Feeders deliver 5 'anywheres' to players. Players then turn and either deliver the ball to the free feeder or directly to the other passing feeder. 2. They then begin 5 anywheres with the opposing feeder. This time they do not pass the ball themselves, they either drive straight to the opposing feeder or if they are still busy pass the ball off to the free feeder.
