How to get my players to create space. They are under 14's and not all play club. aAt times they crowd or fall over each other.
Dear Leanne,
Here's a great drill to get your players getting from their marker and creating space. The keys to creating space in netball area:
Movement off the ball - they should be actively looking for spaces between defenders to exploit
Clearing out - moving away from the ball, drawing your defender away to create space for other players to run into
Screening and blocking - a well-executed screen can temporarily impede a defender's movement, allowing the offensive player to get free for a pass or shot
Triangle passing - emphasise the importance of creating passing triangles on the court. Encourage your players to position themselves in a triangular shape, which allows for quick and efficient ball movement.
Hope this helps.
