What is the best way for a Goal Keeper to defend, especially within the semi circle. ? Should they watch the ball then try to intercept any ball going to Goal Shooter or just mark up their partner?Submitted via email

Playing ball off post from back line pass
Hi I am wanting to do a drill with my girls (8 & 9 yr old first timers) to get them to watch the ball (also have a deaf child who will be in WD this week and she is having trouble getting the girls attentions both in attack and in defence) wanting to get them to focus on the ball and possesion rather than mum on the side lines. was thinking something like a hot potato but any other ideas for fun games that are visual rather than sound orientated. Any suggestions?? %3A)
My kids are 12 and they do not know how to move this always slows them down what do i do in training to get them to move?
What is the best way for players 11-13 to mitigate the affect of open players using their elbows. It is brought to the umpires attention and they do their best. However, I have in the last few weeks heard 2 different coaches (when I was observing games - hence I could hear the coach) give instructions to her players to "use elbows and intimidate". Seems a growing trend based on what a lot of players are doing on court in a range of teams. Defensively my players are starting to shy away from staying close to their oppn player. When on attack - I tell them to keep moving so the oppn defense can't set up on them and use the elbow. The poor GS particularly is getting really knocked about a lot of time as she is trying to execute a hold sometimes.
What are the best drills to train GS and GA timely movement in the attacking circle?
Hi all, My daughter is about to start coaching for the first time and it's expected she'll have a group of 10 years olds in C or D grade. I'm struggling to remember what her capabilities were at that age and she's looking for some suggestions for drills to start off with until she gets a handle on where they're at. Is anyone currently working with kids around that age/ability bracket? Does anyone know if any of the weekly drills are aimed at beginners/introductory levels? From the ones I'm seen, they're aimed at an intermediate level so I'm assuming some of the games would be OK, but most of the drills would be beyond their capability. Thanks in advance.

I am a coach and an umpire, but i have been doing more coaching than umpiring of late. I have noticed a particular peculiarity with regards to the obstruction rule that i have seen more and more than i really do not think is correct. I have politely challenged asking the umpires concerned and also a second opinion from another umpire and they agree with me.We have had a defending player who is standing less than a foot away with her back to the person shooting with her arms up who is clearly interfering with the shot. The explanation i was given by the umpire that let this go unchallenged said that as long as the player can bring her arms up to shoot that is ok.My argument is that if a side or goal line pass is taken and the defending player has her back to the playing taking the pass then that shouldn't be challenged either.I agree that sometimes when the shot is under the post it is difficult to get 3 feet or with covid rules 4 feet away. But a lot of shooter follow there shoot through before releasing the ball, and when this is impeded sure all of these things constitute obstruction. Please help me, because although i am pretty confident that i am right and this umpire, and a number of other umpires i have noticed are doing the same. Can i please have feedback.
