exercises for hands over ball
Looking for drills to develop 'aggression' in players when there is a loose ball - ie. to 'want/own' that ball.

I assistant coach a year 5 team who have horrible core strength and they can not do planks and apparently 'sit ups are too easy' and they can't do push ups. What can i do to give them more core strength??
I have short defenders and we will be playing a team in the finals that has a 6ft goalie. Looking for advise on the best way to stop the giant goalie.
I am currently going through the rule book with my team to improve their understanding but had some queries from a player that has played at quite a high level in Australia. In particular rule 13.1(v) which states: a player may having batted the ball once, either catch or direct the ball to another player and 13.1(vi) having bounced the ball once, either catch or direct the ball to another player. She disputes this rule and says the ball cannot be bounced or batted under control before catching it as umpires have called it replayed ball. Can someone please clarify as I am using England netball official rule book 2011 edition.
At a recent game the opposition umpire said that we no longer do toss ups and rather rudely overruled my team's umpire. I have not been formally involved in umpiring for about 5 years and had not heard this - toss ups were still in the rule book when I did the online umpiring test earlier this year. Can anyone enlighten me?
...where it will list and describe playing terminology such as shave, tackle-back, steal, forehand.
we had two different umpire opinion's last game about the defender placing her hand on the ball to prevent the shooter from being able to shoot.one umpire stated this was contact and that the defender is not allowed to do this, but the other umpire stated that as the defender was the required 3 feet away she can place her hand on the ball
The 163cm defender is great against regular height girls her age (ie 13) but I need some help with the tall girls (185 cm +). She jumps really well and is constantly with the player. She reads the play well but it is almost soul destroying to see the opposition lob the ball into the tall girl who stands and waits for the shot.
it is part of my gymnastics project
How can I turn these tips into possessions, is it footwork being too slow to actually get onto the ball. or what?? Most of the tips are in defence area and centre. Love some feedback Janine
how do i bring out aggression in my players?
Hi everyone, I have a few girls in a pretty strong under 13 team who start dropping balls when the pace gets fast and furious. The main issue seems to be trying to turn and look to where they are going to pass before they've got their hands firmly on the ball. Anyway have worked on drills that slow things down but this seems to go by the wayside as soon as their is another fast and furious game. Anyone got any thoughts? thanks Rebecca
I organise a ladies netball group of varying abilities but mostly beginners. Despite constantly telling them to slow their play down, they are determined to pass the pall on as soon as its in their hands often resulting in sloppy passing. Any suggestions on how to slow the pace down and hopefully, improve their passing?
How can you get an interception with two hands and deliver the ball safely to goal. If I am getting a tip on the ball when intercepting is that down to basic ball handling skills ? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App

I am new to coaching this year and have a couple of girls who struggle to catch the ball despite 3 yrs of playing. One is quite scared and the other does not have good gross motor skills. Any suggestions on drills or games to improve these?
My GD is tall and has a very good stretch when marking the shoot. She anticipates well, and when she sees the shoot about to release the ball, times her action and from her stretch, flicks her hand to try to deflect the ball from its path. In a recent game, she was continually pulled for contact when doing this. She felt either the shoot had raised the ball up into her hands (and it should have been the GD's possession), or the shoot had actually released the ball before she then deflected it, rather than her knocking the ball from the shoots possession. The umpire after the game was happy to discuss and said the GD had been penalised for knocking the ball out of the shoots hands, and should have stuck with the stretch and not added the flick. Any advice?
