I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
I am coaching Under 13's (girls aged from 8 - 12) just wondering what the best way to get them to move into space and not crowd would be.
what drill could i do to improve running into space for netball ?
I coach a team of U15 girls who vary in their ability. Our play from the baseline throw in is disjointed and the ball is often intercepted as a result. What is the best way to teach the girls to read each others play and operate as a smooth unit?
what are some drills to get passer to look long and a receiver to go back to get pass? thanks
How do you teach GK and GD to talk? I know I need to teach my 14yr olds to communicate in the circle, but what exactly should they be saying? And how do I teach them to switch partners in the circle when they need to rather than getting caught out focussing too much on one player? They're an awesome pair, and I think if we can address these two issues, they will be scary good. Thanks for any help. Heather.
My kids are 12 and they do not know how to move this always slows them down what do i do in training to get them to move?
After my opponent release the ball can I use my body but not arms to block in front of her so as to prevent her from going to the front?( In centre third) If the opponent just run ahead and crash on the defender, is it a contact?Or in fact the action of the defender preventing the attacker to run towards goal third is obstruction or a rule called" causing contact"?
can someone please clarify interpretation of this particular rule. I had a situation on court where the GA was driving into the goal circle and the GK, having spotted this, moved into that space to "block" the attacker. Who contacted who as they were both moving at speed.
How do you beat a player that is blocking/face defending an attacker who is finding it hard to get free? Particularly when they are trying to go forward into the space for the ball.

Does anyone have any drills or practices for groups of 10 or more that will help explain and develop an understanding of 'channels' and moving the ball into new space rather than keep everything down one side?
Any great tips for Goal Keeper position with regards to better positioning and defence?
How does a team defend against opposition that pass into space extremely well. I teach my girls to stay in front of player as a defender but their passing is extremely on point and very difficult to intercept. Can you give me some suggestions.
Would love some advice, I am a new coach about to start coaching 7-8 year olds who have never played netball before. I would love any advice you have for a new coach on how to structure the training session, any drills I should start with and fun ways to teach them the basic skills of netball
How can I work around in the team on court to get the ball to the shooter really easily?
How to get my players to create space. They are under 14's and not all play club. aAt times they crowd or fall over each other.

I have a player who tends to hang back behind her partner in games, and then tries to move into position to receive a pass. She signals that she is free but doesn't move quickly enough into position so often loses the ball.No matter how many times we work on this at training, when it comes to the actual games she reverts to her standard play but then gets upset when nobody passes to her. She is fast losing confidence as the other players on the team are all moving beyond her level and she is aware of this. Any ideas?
Hi I am a first year coach of a 9 and under team.My girls are struggling with the concept of running to space and receiving a pass on the move while advancing the ball to our attacking third. It seems no matter how hard i try to implement drills for passing at practice, come game day the girls still group together and call for the ball standing still. Any ideas/drills anyone could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Regards Mark
