I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
I am new to coaching this year and have a couple of girls who struggle to catch the ball despite 3 yrs of playing. One is quite scared and the other does not have good gross motor skills. Any suggestions on drills or games to improve these?
Do you have any suggestions for trials?
What should I do on a first coaching session ? I don't want the girls to get bored, i want them to want to come back next week.
I have a team of mixed age girls from year 4 to year 5. 7 of the players are playing together for 2nd or 3rd season together with 2 of these players having low ball and motor skills. 3 of the players are in their first year, 1 of which demonstrates good ball and motor skills, the other two with beginner skills. What is the best way to rotate the players for games to ensure they are all developing? The section we are playing in does not require mandatory position changes at half time, although I have been doing this to develop their overall skills, is this right? Thanks in advance, Mel
How do I coach a player to be more agressive? She is a briljant player but everytime she taps the ball she puts up both her hands and doesn't go again. She is a really nice girl and I think she doesn't want to break any rules. I need her to play more agressive
I have a defender who always tips the ball out, never tries to catch with 2 hands to gain possession, how do I get her out of this bad habit? The same defender always looks down to ensure she is 3 feet before putting her hands over the ball. This takes only takes a second but normally the attacker has passed the ball before she looks up.
What are some good ways of keeping players with their eyes up and on the ball, and also some ways of helping with their body angles Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
I have a group of 14-16 yrs who have the potential to be very good netballers. Their basic skills are brilliant but they are lacking strength on the ball & when being marked. Can anyone offer an opinion on how i can toughen them up? Thank you!
How do you fairly and evenly manage a team with 10 players without offending and upsetting people? How do you compile a roster or game plan to accomodate everyone, and what can you do to avoid upset around finals time?
Looking for a simple drill to teach Under 9's defensive play without contact

coaching u13s have 6 good players and 2 that this their first season. For this first half of the season most of their training has been catching and throwing .I find that they are not improving so on game days the other players are reluctant to pass it to them as they either drop the ball or pass it to the opposition.I am struggling to know what to do
I have 10 players and need to roster them equally, does anyone have a formula
hi guys. i am the coach of a year 6/7/8 primary team, this year i picked an extra large squad of 13 girls as we are a small town and didnt want to turn anyone away. i have 2 players that are by far the standouts of the team. at beginning of season i explained due to numbers no one would get full games and two people would stand down per week which has so far worked well. however now the parents think i should be playing these two girls all the time for full games. the two girls will leave for college next year and i fear giving them all the game time will discourage my young up and comers and i will then be left with nothing next year. i also think some parents are unaware if i do this it will be their children that are on the sideline. is it better to have many kids playing some netball than just some playing lots??? please help
HI,I would like some ideas on how I can get my under 12's representative team hungry for the ball? They need to become more aggressive without being bitchy if you know what I mean. Thanks Leah
When two players on the same team catch the ball simultaneously, and one player releases the ball, what should the umpires decision be? Should it be "Held ball", or should play continue?
Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
I am doing my Netball Level 2 coaching and having problems linking 4 sessions, Can anyone give me guideline?
9 players - 4 girls off half a game each week or 2 players off per quarter? I coach a 10 yrs team in a very close A grade competition. There are 9 players therefore 2 reserves are needed each quarter. Is it best to have 4 girls off for half a game each week, less disruption to team but best players are then off for half a game - girls are off every second week, or 2 girls off each quarter, more disruption but best players are only off for quarter of a game, girls are off every week. I am required to give all players equal time on the court throughout the season. Thank you.
