I am doing my Netball Level 2 coaching and having problems linking 4 sessions, Can anyone give me guideline?
Joanne from what I have learnt keep going over the basics with key words and just build the skill level over that time . EG once they get the basic skill in the first session build it to court application with that basic skill . next week quickly go over it then make it e little tougher eg with def to make them work harder .. next week the same ..into a game situation at various points on the court and the next week .. all in one !..set a no of passes or outside pivots or contested balls depending on the skill you are teaching .. check the 7 progressions
Fiona thank you so much. That is really helpful....
NOt alot to add to Fion'a comment but with the 4 linked sessions, there needs to be some logic of why you have chosen the topics. Typically you start off with Stage 1 Defending, then Stage 2, then Stage 3 and then may be 'Team Defending' where you have small groups of defenders working together (such as GK and GD working with the WD and C). Another logical link would be to start with Straight drives; then a double drive; then a dodge and finally in the fourth plan try a jump-catch-turn landing.

I did my Level 2 a couple of years ago now and I still remember how worried I was about my linked sessions! In the end I chose Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 defending then combined all the defensive skills for last session. The important thing that they want to see is the link between the Defending Principle you have chosen in all four sessions. Mine was to 'close down and deny space'. I passed, so that must have been ok!! Make sure you have your progressions within each session and have a friendly rapport, they like that! Good luck!!
