Iâm new to coaching and have a team of 9 NetSetGo girls aged 8/9. While they have played two seasons already, they lack basic skills such as chest passing, shoulder passing, pivoting, etc.Does anyone have any helpful tips or useful drills which could be used to help teach the girls these skills.

Hi Celeste,
Firstly I would do a session simply going through these basic skills and how to do them with the correct technique. You can find guidance on this in our fundamentals section.
You can also find great passing drills in under 'passing' in our drills section. However here are a few I've selected that I think might help:
1) The Clock - this will get your players to practice passing and moving
2) 2 Lead Drive - this will allow your players to practice their longer passes, as well as highlight the importance of preliminary movement
3) Chest Pass on the Move - this is a simple drill that will get your players driving onto the ball, whilst ensuring they abide by the footwork rule
4) The Star - this drill gets your players to practice passing off, clearing out (when going around the posts), to drive back in to re-offer for the ball
These are only a few suggestions however there are plenty more to check out.
Hope this helps.

Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
