DESCRIPTION

2 players 2 balls 1 ball should only be bounce passed and the other ball should be chest passed through the air.

COACHING POINTS

The exercise is made easier by using 2 different colour balls.

Ball catching skills and quick movement:

Two players stand two meters apart.

The receiver turns their back on the feeder and awaits their instructions. When the feeder gives the command, shouting left, right, above (their head) or center (into the player's body) the receiver must quickly turn around and be prepared to receive the ball, where necessary taking two to three small but fast steps to the side in preparation for receiving the pass.

Catch pivot and pass relay | Footwork

Catch pivot and pass relay:

The starting player passes the ball to the player moving towards the ball from the opposite group.

The receiving player who catches the ball should land on 1 foot, then land on their 2nd foot and pivot onto their 1st landing foot to pass the ball back the player on the side where they started.

Exercise reverses in the other direction.

1 v 2 Guarding Ball Side | Defence

1 v 2 Guarding Ball Side:

Slowly, the two attacking players pass the ball back and forth and the defender should move to the ball side of the spare attacking player to prevent the pass.

The feeder occassionaly feeds the ball to the far side of the spare attacking player i.e. When 1 has the ball, defence will be on blue 3's left and the ball will be fed to blue 3's right.

The defending player in this situation must try to make the interception.
