I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
How do you teach circle defenders how to handle defending both shooters when GD or GK is out of play outside the cirlce?
best way to teach defending a lob pass. My girls are very short so opposing teams constantly lob.
I have two new shooters to work with in seniors, we have been working on circle rotations during the preseason. I'm now trying to get them to understand the importance of holding to receive the quick passes in from the circle, any suggestions?
The 163cm defender is great against regular height girls her age (ie 13) but I need some help with the tall girls (185 cm +). She jumps really well and is constantly with the player. She reads the play well but it is almost soul destroying to see the opposition lob the ball into the tall girl who stands and waits for the shot.
We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks
How to get my GD and GK to know how to defend a 2 v 1 situation if one of them are standing out, outside of the ring?
What is the best way to intercept a lob out in mid court and also goal circle?
How do you get the Goal Defence staying with the Goal Attack, especially when the Goal Attack drops down behind the Goal Defence and gets the ball all the time in the Goal Circle? How do you get the Defence in the Goal Circle to rebound and how do you get the Goal Shooters following their shot and rebound?
I need shooting drills for around the circle to help my team on weekends. I don't want drills that have nothing to do with moving the ball around the circle and shooting. I want shooting set ups for game day please.
We do warm up pre matches using dynamic stretches & some drills but our first quarter is often our worst - does anyone have any good pre match warm up drills they can suggest as I do t think ours getting the team match ready Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
Defending a lob into the goal circle
During my class session, few of my students are poor in lob passing. Their technique of passing is wrong. How can I improve their lob passing skill, with an interesting games approach?
Can a bounce pass from a short distance between two players be penalized for a short pass?
I wondered if anyone could give me a rough order of what parts of the game I should focus on with my daughter's 10 year old team for their pre-season and early-season training? I'm tempted to talk to them about positional play but they don't have really firm positions yet so I don't want to confuse them. I've just taken on my daughter's 10 year old team. They are division three and many of the girls played for the first time last year. Their coaching last year was very light. I spent our first session last week working on straight leads and dodges, just simple running onto the ball and throwing in front of the player drills. We have 2 more training sessions before our first game...

Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
My teams is playing opposition this week who has a very good GD who is a master floater. Last time we played them we played into her hands and lost by 2 and I want to have a few tactics for this week.We also had a young player fill-in WA last time which didn't help as she was unfamiliar with our team. I was trying to get the players to look for our GA who was often free but I think she was playing too close to the goal circle which made things a bit crowded. I think also that once my players realised what the GD was doing, they started to hesitate on the pass. Our GS is reasonably tall and has a good hold so if we can get a good high pass into her before the GD can drop back that may help.Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
