Combatting a floating GD

My teams is playing opposition this week who has a very good GD who is a master floater. Last time we played them we played into her hands and lost by 2 and I want to have a few tactics for this week.We also had a young player fill-in WA last time which didn't help as she was unfamiliar with our team. I was trying to get the players to look for our GA who was often free but I think she was playing too close to the goal circle which made things a bit crowded. I think also that once my players realised what the GD was doing, they started to hesitate on the pass. Our GS is reasonably tall and has a good hold so if we can get a good high pass into her before the GD can drop back that may help.Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

if you have a good tall GS who defends her player from behind then id be telling your GA to stay away from the circle unless the GD goes in there and do exactly what you have suggested and pass lobs or high passes to the GS.  if the GD starts to double team your GS then get the GA involved more to keep the GD occupied.

Good luck with your game.

the other option is to get the WA or C to help block/zone the GD out of the circle.

Thanks very much Lee-anne - both suggestions are what I had been thinking of trying at training.  Much appreciated.

Update: we had a great game today and won by 20! We were 5 up at half time and just motored on from there. The GD only took one intercept all game :) I got the GA to take more passes as she was often free, the GD ended up dropping back and double teaming the GS but she rolled out of the double well and got free. We also were much smarter with our passes. Very happy!
