Split your players into groups of three, with one ball per group.
Player 2's job is to hold their space (screening) behind the defender (player X), leading slightly with one shoulder.
When the feeder lifts the ball over player X player 2 must move to receive the pass and then hold/ protect the ball.
Player 2 must hold their move until the ball is over head.
Player 2 should stand sideways on as it is much harder to run backwards than it is to turn from a sideways stance and run forward.

Most club teams defend one-on-one and nothing else. A well-drilled zone gives you a second option, and against the right opponent it is the difference between chasing and controlling.
The backline pass is the most under-coached restart in netball. Get it right and you turn a dead ball into an attacking weapon before the opposition has reset.
July is the month that decides your season. Netball is not a steady jog - it is a string of short, sharp, repeated sprints with barely any recovery. Here is how to build a pre-season engine that still has legs in the final quarter.
