Stepping around drills

Does anyone know of a good drill to teach stepping around when passing the ball? I have quite a short player in my team who has trouble getting the ball round her opponents hands. We've been working on faking the pass as an alternative solution.

Is they any  drills  i can implement at training for chatter boxers  and the team forgetting the basic skills in a game of netball. i.e. defending their players through the game, foot work, throwing a ball to team members getting in fron t of the players , no even talking to each otheretc                                                   Its very frustrating when theses girls are  13/15 year olds and are  lazy .

Training duration. How long is enough?

How long do you think 11 to 15 year olds can train for in one session before not gaining any benefit. I was thinking 1hour to 1.5 at the max.I have a wide range of ages in my team this year and want to make sure that the older girls are being challenged enough and the younger ones aren't over doing it.

Keeping players focused during training?

Hi, How to keep girls of U13 team focussed during training? They are a lovely bunch of girls, but their focus is all over the place. What do you do to keep girls on task?

Planning coaching sessions for a 1 hour session?

I currently play for and captain a team and often run some training sessions during the summer for my team. There are quite a few things I think we could work on and also things the ladies want to focus on too. Sometimes I think I have had overloaded sessions e.g. too many drills and not enough time to complete them properly and then to have a mini game to put it all in practice at the end. For an hour session, how many drill sessions do you think would be ideal and is it better to focus on say a couple of skills per session?

Difficult To please all players

How domi deal with a player who does not attend training but yet wants to participate in league games. She is a good player but I feel she is missing out on training and how the whole team functions together and led eloping herself further. Also I have a player who thinks she is the best player in the team . She enjoys playing centre position which she is very good at. After half time I get her to sit out because I need to give ankther players who is totally as good as her to play centre as its fresh legs on the court, plus she gets a little tired playing centre. She feels she is capable of playing a full game and why does she have to sit out at half time. All the players are excellent players in the team therefore it's difficult to decide who to sit out and who to keep on??Please advise

mum gets frustrated with my performance in netball

my coach put my team into a higher division to play in the Twilight competition. I used to play amazing when i played in my own level, but now since i am versing higher teams, my performance is really bad. i keep on getting tired, which then leaves me to not be able to get free, defend, pass or jump to get the rebounds. it is really annoying, because my mum does not seem to understand why i am so bad now, and she yells at me all the time. i tried telling her that she has to be supportive instead of criticising me because she has no idea why i'm playing bad, but she just gets even more mad! we don't have proper training because our coach is too busy, so we have a players mum.Her training is not the same as my coach's.please help, i don't know what to do!

How to strengthen a weak shoulder pass

Hi, I have a player who is coming back to netball after not having played since she was 12 years old (now 18). I want her to develop her throwing arm as her shoulder pass is quite weak. Apart from throwing the ball back and forth at home, are there any specific exercises I can get her to do?

confidence with shooting

I coach a player who practices shooting basically every day but cannot get them in when she is playing. The problem isn't to do with her technique but rather her confidence in her abilities is lacking. How can I build her confidence?

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
