I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
I have a group of girls 11/12 who have never had a coach and are improving in leaps and bounds each week. My problem is, they don't seem to be able to last the whole game fitness wise. Can you suggest any fitness drills for a group of lazy girls who do not enjoy the fitness aspect of the training session...(some of them walk their warm-ups). The majority of them are in high school and have that dreadful "i'm good" attitude. Any suggestions graetly appreciated
Who can send me an example of a training session for a A3 team where the training lasts 1 hours from warn up to warm down
I would like to give my girls some extra training to do at home to help build up their core strength, arm strength, speed and balance on the court. Any suggestions as to what i can give them. They are 13 and are all keen for it. I just need something that they can do that lasts no longer than 30min and that they can do about 3 times a week. That way if training is cancelled due to rain they can still do a netball based workout at home.
I assistant coach a year 5 team who have horrible core strength and they can not do planks and apparently 'sit ups are too easy' and they can't do push ups. What can i do to give them more core strength??
I am just wondering if anyone has a good fitness lesson for U.13's. I've got a new team with some super fit girls and some very unfit girls. Their skills are as widely mixed as their fitness abilities and I'm struggling knowing what I can do to accommodate all girls. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all coaches - any tips on how to coach a player who is getting pulled up for "late take off" footwork - i find it difficult to explain clearly - Thanks! Alison
How long do you think 11 to 15 year olds can train for in one session before not gaining any benefit. I was thinking 1hour to 1.5 at the max.I have a wide range of ages in my team this year and want to make sure that the older girls are being challenged enough and the younger ones aren't over doing it.
My girls are doing exceptionally well in their grade and i am very proud, however i am wondering if i should work on fitness with them or not? Help?
Hi do you have anything for player self evaluation ?
âI'm looking at designing a training program for a netball team. It's an assessment piece for HPE at school, and the following factors must be implemented into the program: Ways to improve on Cardio Vascular fitness, muscular power, muscular speed, and agility and co-ordination. The training plan should be 18 weeks in length, incorporating the Preparatory and Competitive Phases of training. I am aiming for the team to 'peak' on the competition day during the 19th week. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
To what extent is a fitness and training program an effective factor, in individual performance and development, on-court stamina and improvement of overall fitness level, when incorporated into an A grade or elite netballerâs lifestyle?
My 2017 season has just finished with my 13B team and I want to start making some session plans for next year now as I will be busy with work beginning of next year. The girls really need to do fitness and I know they enjoy it too which is great. If anyone has any suggestions please leave a comment.
I am wanting to get myself into best possible fitness before the season starts. What are some training's/ ideas that could help?
How do you design a Netball pre-season screening assessment?
Often after half time my team has a bit of slump in the 3rd quarter what is something we can do in to keep the momentum going?
I'm 12 years old and have been playing netball for 3 years now but how do I go pro?I do netball 4 times a week and try to keep fit. I enjoy netball and I'm good at it but I want to play for England but don't know how to get there. I play for a Bedfordshire Academy and always put in effort when training and when doing matches. Which path do I take to play for England one day.Thank you (GK/GD

HI,I would like some ideas on how I can get my under 12's representative team hungry for the ball? They need to become more aggressive without being bitchy if you know what I mean. Thanks Leah
For an assignment, I most teach some students how to play netball; however we must do the training in the Competition Season. What drills can I do that are of high intensity and also fit into the Competition Season?
in more ways than one
No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
Train your defenders to win clean turnovers, not just disrupt. The difference between good defenders and great ones is taking the ball, not just touching it.
