I am just wondering if anyone has a good fitness lesson for U.13's. I've got a new team with some super fit girls and some very unfit girls. Their skills are as widely mixed as their fitness abilities and I'm struggling knowing what I can do to accommodate all girls. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Michelle,
You could do a timed circuit eg. 2mins each station, so it dosnt matter what fitness level the girls are, they go as hard as they can for the whole 2mins.
Let me know how you go.
Cheers
we run a circuit, using ground ladders for footwork (can incorporate a ball by throwing one at them as they go through), hurdles ( a line of them), make a box using the hurdles that they have to jump in and out of, burbpees/situps/pushups, plank, obstaclals to zig zag around, sprints, jumping against a wall or fence, skipping, and throwing a ball against a wall in pairs. 2 mins is a good length of time if you keep the numbers at each station small, or just have them on a moving circuit for 5mins. we have a 30min fitness session at the beginning of each of our training session. we train for 1.5hrs to ensure we have time to do fitness.
Thanks Leanne & Tom! I hadn't thought about the timed circuit. We train for an hour so I can fit this in and a game at the end.
Will definitely try these out at our next session %3A)

Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
