I assistant coach a year 5 team who have horrible core strength and they can not do planks and apparently 'sit ups are too easy' and they can't do push ups. What can i do to give them more core strength??
Hi, i am predominantly a U12yrs coach but i want to transition in to coaching the high school girls. I love all these drills and session plans and have found them very helpful, but i am looking now for information on strategies used in netball eg/strategic positioning of players when changing from attacking to suddenly defending after a turnover, or when should the GA drop back . when to use a zone defence or side-on defence. All these questions that aren't covered by drills. Is there somewhere to get this info or is it just learn as u go. Thank you
Hi I have looked and looked but cannot find a definitive answer on fair team rotation. I have a team of 13-14 year olds and there are 9 in the team. There is one girl who cannot/will not play any other position other than WA, so I am very limited with where I can place her. My theory has always been that you shouldn't make too many changes, however, these kids expect court time... How can I manage them fairly?
HII'm coaching girls aged 10-11 with a varied mixed skill based some are highly skilled, medium and very basic. And its making it very hard in our transitions. Our association is very strict on player rotation and equal court time so therefore some of these girls just arent a GA, GK or C etc etc. I've tried my very best to even out the court balance to get the flow, but some of the girls just arent present which is making some of the other girls become frustrated. At training we stick to the basics so that everyone understands correct passing, footwork, attacking and defending. I also incorporate other skills and drills for the girls that do get the concept of the game more, but its just so hard with these girls. It's like i have 3 different skill levels in one team. Any tips would be great!!

The girls I am coaching have never played before and are aged 6 to 7 years, I really need some ideas to teach them the positions of the court - any tips or drills anyone can recommend?
I am having trouble with one of my players who is a very valuable mid court player, yet obseses about wanting to play GS, not only is she the shortest in the team but when she has played GS she struggles to get in front to receive the ball. No matter how much I explain that the mid court is where she needs to be she wont let it up & even has a nasty attitude towards other players. I have very good shooters in the team, how do I explain without upsetting her but in a way that will get through to her that shooting is not for her this season??
My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning? No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? Just wondering what is the best position to leave vacant if only 6 girls can attend a game. It's u11's with 2 brand new players & we are getting beaten by large margins & it's one of our seasoned players that will be off Asked using Sportplan on Mobile

No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
Train your defenders to win clean turnovers, not just disrupt. The difference between good defenders and great ones is taking the ball, not just touching it.
