My U14's could not get free on a Goal line throw in?

My U14's could not get free on a Goal line throw in. I need practices for Goal Defenders (GD), wing defenders (WD) to get free to receive a pass from the goal Keeper (GK). With the second pass to the centre (C) or back to the GK. Thank you Angie. - submitted by email

Team yellowhas centre pass- but ball not touched in centre third but caught by green team in goal third. Is this a penalty as 1st pass not received in centre third or can play go on?

C and GD blocking the GA

If my C and GD block the GA so that she can't get into her attacking third is that okay. They are basically facing them and getting in their way so that it makes it hard for the GA to get free? Also, if the GA then runs into one of my defenders and the ball is just about to be shot by their GS do I pull it up as a free pass in the centre third or do I presume that it does not affect the movement of the ball and let the GS continue with their shot?

How 2 zone the goal third????

Does anyone have ideas on how 2 zone the goal third??? What i mean is screening the circle so that the pass cant get into the shooter??? From the center pass or a turnover in the center third?? Keeping it simple as my girls are 10years.

Defending off court player.

Defending off court player. When a player in general play goes off court to improve her position , does the defender HAVE to allow her onto the court ? OR can she block her from returning. Eg shooter on one side of the circle goes off court around the goalpost and tries to return to court on the other side but defender {on court} blocks her from returning. Is this legal ???

Offside question - centre pass.

I am an umpire as well as a player, and I had a situation a few weeks ago that challenged my knowledge. On a centre pass. Referring to the third lines. Do the third lines form part of the centre court or are they part of the goal third. In other words at what point would GA,GD,WA and WD become off side? If their foot/feet were on the line? Same for the Centre, would she be off side if her foot/feet were on the line?

The over night we were playing and the opposing team threw the ball over the centre third . The ball wasn't touched or received in this third, however it did bounce in the third. The upmire played on as it had bounced. Is this correct ?

Not behind the line for a centre pass

Hey quick questionIf the WD or GD are attempting to block the WA or GA from entering the goal third prior to a centre pass would you call obstruction or delaying play. Asking for a friend as this happened to their team.

What can you do (if anything) if the umpire advances the ball a whole third?

I know that you're not allowed to dispute an umpires call, but I recently played in a game where I was unfairly called for contact and upon rolling my eyes at the call (bad move, I know) I had the ball advanced from the middle of the centre third to right underneath the goal post. According to the rule book an umpire can only advance the ball about half a third or 5 metres, so was there anything i could've done at quarter time or so to clarify the umpires decision?

Court strategies - 11s - Sport...

I have conflicting advice - don't teach too many court strategies ie C to WA to GS to GA from a centre pass as I have been told that it stiffles their thinking. But without this I find they all crowd the space and at 10yrs old it seems very difficult to get them to understand about reading who is already in that space.  Or perhaps I just aren't explaining that concept well??  And also when bringing the ball through the court from a goal line throw in at our GK end - same with strategies for that. Is it okay to say GK I won't you to throw it to GD, then GD to C and so on and this is where your area of the court is and I want you to stay in that area and try and get the ball there?  Keeping the WD on the otherside and making sure she doesn't cross over. Confusing over how much at this age we teach court strategies or perhaps they are know as plays.  Alice P
