I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
hi, i am new to coaching and our girls are only 7, this is their first season and are playing Netta Netball which is a slight variation to netball, ie, lower goal post, how do i teach them to get in front or to get the ball if their girl is a lot taller, they need to learn defending and getting in front to get the ball but dont know how to explain to them.

Hi, I am coaching a group of 10yr old girls who majority have never played netball before. Am I better to rotate them in positions or let them get use to the ones that I allocate them too.. Also what are some good drills that I can teach them Defence or Attack... I have taught them the basics of passing, shooting but need help on alot of other drills... We only have training once a week in which I find hard because I believe they need more training days and we only have 2 training sessions to go till the season starts. Could you please give me some helpful ideas to help my girls understand netball and how to play netball without me having to put the pressure on them like as if I was coaching under 16s or something...
I have a player who tends to hang back behind her partner in games, and then tries to move into position to receive a pass. She signals that she is free but doesn't move quickly enough into position so often loses the ball.No matter how many times we work on this at training, when it comes to the actual games she reverts to her standard play but then gets upset when nobody passes to her. She is fast losing confidence as the other players on the team are all moving beyond her level and she is aware of this. Any ideas?
What key coaching points are there to be remembered in intercepting?
What are attacking strategies and defending strategies??? I need to finish my coursework and I am stuck with those two!
How do you get the Goal Defence staying with the Goal Attack, especially when the Goal Attack drops down behind the Goal Defence and gets the ball all the time in the Goal Circle? How do you get the Defence in the Goal Circle to rebound and how do you get the Goal Shooters following their shot and rebound?
i need to know some techniques when marking a player in netball.

I only have one tall player in my team the rest is very short, I struggle at the defender block
I coach b grade senior netball, we range from 19 years old to 40. our biggest problem on game day is not getting in front for ball. they are continually running away from ball calling for it over top. for last 5plus weeks we have done every drill I can think of, involving change of direction, cut backs, holding space. they end up acing the drills. but when it gets to the game, all is forgotten again and running away from ball again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

does anyone have a getting in front drill for an U12's team
Help... I am new to coaching netball albeit have played for years. My experience in playing comes from being an attacker so trying to work with my defence, is proving tricky. The issue I have is that both my GD and GK face mark. I have tried numerous drills in training however as soon as they get in to a match, they revert back to face marking. When the ball is coming down the court, I encourage them to stay on their toes, side marking and moving in front and round the back however when the GA or the GS moves out, the face marking starts. We have had balls bounce of the backs of heads and all sorts. Does anyone have any tips? Di
i coach an under 15s team and my gaolers are struggling to move in the ring. They seem only make straight leads and do not get in front. Are there any drills or advice to help my gaolers move efficiently in the ring?
Hi I coach a great team of under 9s and when we do a driving drill we start with "pitter patter feet" (like a very fast low jog on spot) then when i say GO they drive forward. However a lot of them step back with their foot then drive forward. Any tricks out there to get just going forward? Is it just the foot they start on like the strong foot? Or something else?
