What I need to do to make a very flexible goalkeeper?

What I need to do to make a very flexible goalkeeper and how to learn GK to have very fast and flexible legs? Im asking this because I have one goalkeeper who is good with hands but he is not using a legs on the game.

I have been intrigued by some anecdotes of a coach?

I have been intrigued by some anecdotes of a coach using tennis balls in a session “that did not pick up a stick for an hour”. It developed hand brain and eye co-ordination and went on to give the feel of the movement of shoulders and hips for the Indian dribble, or at least moving a ball in a figure of 8…anyone heard of this or am I the victim of a wind up? It sounded great and a novel way to ring some changes in a junior session.

Re involving GKs in junior coaching sessions.

I really struggle to make practice fun and useful for the GKs. My attention is naturally focussed on the outfield players, meaning most of the time I simply have drills finishing with a shot on goal to keep the GK involved. Pretty boring for them. Any ideas how I can involve them more? Thanks, Charlie

adding goal keepers to club training

Whats the best way to use keepers in a 2 hour club night .? Core skills of out field players needs more work to get them up to speed . Any ideas would be great ta Dave .

Dave Brierley Coach, England

Is being strict at training good?

The girls don't always listen to our coach and they talk over her when she is explaining drills. I am getting really fed up with it. Is it a good thing to start giving out punishments like laps or star jumps or corners to encourage them to listen and do the skills at match pace? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App

I have been using Sportplan now for 3 years and can honestly say that I have never repeated the same session twice. My girls are always focused and are improving every year. Thanks Sportplan.

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.

Wes Campbell Rugby Coach Canada
