I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Help with coaching 8 year olds what drills should i use as they are playing netta netball.
i'm new in netball as a school team coach. i dont have coaching manual, how do i coach basics?
I assistant coach a year 5 team who have horrible core strength and they can not do planks and apparently 'sit ups are too easy' and they can't do push ups. What can i do to give them more core strength??
One of my young teams is made up of players who play as individuals and fail to see that working together as a team would make them stronger. Obviously we have had the discussion and focussed on this in drills but it continues to be a feature. There are some strong players but together it's chaotic! ..any advice on how to successfully address this so that I may get the best out of them?
How do I bring the best out in a shy timid girl. To speed up her passing and to call names would help to start with any suggestions. Under 11s.
I am Father coaching my Daughters Netball Team & I wanted to use a different set up when Taking the Centre Pass to Start ,so I need to know where the GA,WA,WD & GD are allowed to stand when a Centre pass is being taken?DO they need to stand at the line as normal or can I change it up a bit?-Say one player up at line in the very centre of line and one player standing or running around behind in the centre of their Third?? Any help with this idea would be greatly appreciated...& thanks in advance
Within our team we have a player that has been in the team from 9/un. We now play open age 15/un and it is way above her skills and abilities. She has difficulty with training and is guaranteed to to cry at most sessions. I have spoken to her mother to encourage her to try and I have spoken to the player. I have asked her if she is happy within the team etc also asked why she plays and what she gets out of it. She always answer that she doesnt know but she is happy. The competition and team mates are way above her abilities - what to do? Suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have two brand new players in a year 5 team, they have never played before, are very shy and seem afraid to get involved in the game. How do I build their confidence to get involved and what positions would be best to introduce them to to start with? Thanks
Hi, does anybody know exactly where the coaches are allowed to stand during a game? I have asked a few people already and they are not 100% sure . It would be great if anyone has the correct answer to this and/or where I could find it? Thanks
I would like to do a fun session with my 17 year old as we are at the bottom of the ladder and will not make finals now.
Because my co-coach and I are only 15/16 years old, we are only a few years older than the girls we coach (who are 11-12). This is useful in our ability to relate, but is not when we are trying to be serious and get a point across. We tend to joke around a bit at training in order to make them as enjoyable as possible, but as soon as we try to be serious, the girls assume we are telling them off and sometimes get upset. We have already had parent issues in relation to positions, so we do not want anymore complaints from the parents or girls. If anyone has advice it would be much appreciated, thanks.
I am coaching a primary school team of girls aged 9-11 & some of them have terrible attitudes. They don't get along with each other, complain about almost all the drills we do, positions they play etc. Does anyone have any tips to boost moral & behaviour? It's only early in the season so I'm keen to get on top of it.
HI, so I am coaching for my first time this year, and I am coaching an U/10 group of girls. I am trying to get them to learn:1) How to get them to work as a team2) How to look for the person without their player3) How to stay in front of their playerand 4) how to not clump.I know that that is a lot of things but where do I start and how do I start? Any answers are much appreciated!!!!Thanks so much!!!!!!!!
Can anyone suggest a fun warm up for a group of skilled 14-15yr olds please. Thanks!
The girls I am coaching have never played before and are aged 6 to 7 years, I really need some ideas to teach them the positions of the court - any tips or drills anyone can recommend?
Hi, This week I'm planning an extra fun training session for my U9's. After an all day carnival on the weekend, I thought having the parents join in our session could be fun. Has anybody done this and got any good ideas for games that would work for the kids and parents - any ideas for fun ways to modify the rules for a full court game that would even up the girls and parent's skills would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance.
What are some good things to say to a team who are losing by a fair amount at halftime.?? They are 12 years old. How can i get them to keep motivated & not give up??
