Netball: getting in front of defence

How to do a roster to rotate 10 netball players

Do you have any tactics for a goal keeper? just so that they can improve. So far they cant quite intercept all balls & judge where the ball is heading. any ideas for improvements?

Hi, I am coaching a group of 10yr old girls who majority have never played netball before. Am I better to rotate them in positions or let them get use to the ones that I allocate them too.. Also what are some good drills that I can teach them Defence or Attack... I have taught them the basics of passing, shooting but need help on alot of other drills... We only have training once a week in which I find hard because I believe they need more training days and we only have 2 training sessions to go till the season starts. Could you please give me some helpful ideas to help my girls understand netball and how to play netball without me having to put the pressure on them like as if I was coaching under 16s or something...

What key coaching points are there to be remembered in intercepting?

if you are working in the D and intercepting high balls into the GS/GA would this type of defending be classed as stage 2?

need help with a workshop/clinic (warm-up ect)

We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks

Hi There, My Daughter runs in very big steps, I think if she runs in small quick steps, it will be better and quicker to dodge her defender? Any thoughts and or drills to help with this please? Love this page!!!

How would I go about teaching a really short girl basic defence? I need to put her in WD most games and she needs to know how to intercept.

I'm coaching u/10's and have an excellent A team, but the B team have learners who haven't been playing netball so long. Does anyone have one or two basic activities, easy to understand (for them) which I can drill them with for passing, defending and getting free, as well as something for the shooters. They are always all over the place (we do practice channels) and really struggle to get free - they run a bit and then just stop to wait for the ball. Anything, even just some advice would be appreciated! :)

How do you get the Goal Defence staying with the Goal Attack, especially when the Goal Attack drops down behind the Goal Defence and gets the ball all the time in the Goal Circle?How do you get the Defence in the Goal Circle to rebound and how do you get the Goal Shooters following their shot and rebound?

I'm a young coach who is coaching an 11A's team. I find it hard to identify/pick up on the problems within their play. How do you identify these problems in order to fix them? Help... I am new to coaching netball albeit have played for years. My experience in playing comes from being an attacker so trying to work with my defence, is proving tricky. The issue I have is that both my GD and GK face mark. I have tried numerous drills in training however as soon as they get in to a match, they revert back to face marking. When the ball is coming down the court, I encourage them to stay on their toes, side marking and moving in front and round the back however when the GA or the GS moves out, the face marking starts. We have had balls bounce of the backs of heads and all sorts. Does anyone have any tips?  Di

i coach an under 15s team and my gaolers are struggling to move in the ring. They seem only make straight leads and do not get in front. Are there any drills or advice to help my gaolers move efficiently in the ring?

I need some clarification please. In the goal circle if GS steps in towards the goal post and lifts her grounded foot, where does the defender defend from if the shooter stepped in before the defender lifted her arms? Is the 3ft from where her grounded foot was or where she stepped in to?
