Netball: Dodge/Shoot/Rebound

The three attackers start at the transverse line and must make five passes before passing to shooters. A further five passes must be made before a shot can be made. The attackers should be aiming to receive the ball on the edge of the circle when they come to pass to shooters.

Focus on shot techniques (as shown in video). Player take a shot from the spot and can not progress to the next one until shot is successful. Each time you miss a shot start at the beginning again.

Shooting third, 4+ players, 2+balls, 3+ cones. Space cones out around the shooting circle. The more cones, the more work.  Two working players are inside the circle, two passers are outside of the circle area. Players drive out and choose a cone to move around. Passer delivers ball to working player near hoop. Player takes a shot. Working player passess out and moves around another cone. The player is finished when they have moved around all cones. 

Shooter sprints out to circle edge and, on return, receives a pass. Shooter must balance, shoot, rebound then return ball to player 1. She continues until 5 goals have been scored - running to a different cone each time, then swap with the feeder. Vary the place at which the feeder stands. Then introduce a defender.

One player, the feeder, starts on the edge of the circle. The other player, the worker (number 1 in the diagram) runs around one of the cones set out on the edge of the shooting circle, then drives back into the circle to receive the ball before making the shot. Shooter collects the successful shot or rebound, passes back out to the feeder and repeats with an alternative cone.

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* Delivering the ball midcourt through to the circle edge/shooters Set up:  Half court, two balls, 5+ players 1 player standing on base line, another player with the ball standing around the third line.  Description: Note: The video shows the drill being played out with 2 groups of players, you could just focus on one group i.e. 1 line, 1 V driver. The description is based on one group.  Player on base line near shooting post, V drives towards court edge and receives a pass from the player in the line with the ball.  Player who passes the ball drives directly to the circle edge in a straight line and receives a pass from the player who has driven out on the V.  Player who had initially drove out now drives into a position under the hoop to receive a pass from their player and put a shot up.     

Blue player 1 dodges to receive from blue 2. The player inside the circle then returns the pass and dodges again. Before being allowed to make the shot the circle player must receive 5 passes. After 5 passes the defender takes the rebound, moves out of the circle and becomes the feeder so all 3 players rotate.

**AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON** Set up: 1 ball, one third space, 1 feeder in between 2 lines of partners. Two players to drive out straight from baseline to top of the circle (approx.) they turn and drive out on a V to the side channels where the feeder passes ball to one of the drivers.  The driving player who did not receive the ball is to cut back to the top of the circle (middle channel) and receive pass from their partner.  The partner now without the ball cuts back into the middle channel to receive a straight pass from their partner. Ball is returned to stationary feeding player. 

Blue number 1 dummies a shot and passes the ball to number 2.   Number 1 runs across towards the goal, to receive the return pass and shoots. The two attackers become next two defenders  

White player 1 throws to Blue player 1, then runs quickly into circle and receives ball back. White player 1 then shoots, collects the ball, and passes to Red player 1, before joining the back of the Red player's line. Red player 1 does the same from the other side and the drill continues.

Set up: Split players into groups of at least 7 with 1 ball using the goal third. Number 1 starts with the ball. The Drill: Player 1 passes the ball to number 3. Meanwhile number 2 holds her defence and turns to receive the second pass and shoots at goal, with number 1 moving in for the rebound. Player 3 can call as she receives the ball for number 2 to turn Player 2 must hold firmly and try to remain directly in between the defence and number 3.

Five attackers, each with a ball, are positioned on the edge of the circle with two other attackers inside the circle. The two ball-less players have to move around inside the circle with sharp movements, calling for the ball from the feeders and passing the ball back to the feeder.

2 players 1 ball 1 post. The player at the top of the circle starts with the ball and passes it to the other player to receive it back under the post. to take a shot . After the shot the other player moves to the top of the circle to receive the ball and the shooter moves wide out of the circle. The practice then starts again.

The aim of the game is to score a goal before the person in front of you does to get them out. The final player left in the line wins. The first player takes a shot from the top edge of the D if that shot goes in they pass the ball to the third player and join the back of the line. If they miss they must collect their ball and keep shooting. The 2nd player however can start as soon as player 1 has taken their first shot. If player 2 gets a shot in before player 1 player 1 is out and must stand behind the red cone. Player 1 passes the ball to the next player and then they can start. Player 2 passes their ball to player four and joins the back of the line. As soon as player 3 has had their first shot player 4 can start. The game continues until there is only one player left.

One shooter from each side runs out and into the circle. X passes the ball to the free shooter who balances then shoots. Defender should defend the shot and also work to receive rebound and then return the ball to X.

Set up two equal lines of players, stood behind the post. Each player has to run out to a cone on the edge of the shooting circle where they then receive a pass landing with one-two footwork. Players then take a shot, and collect the rebound. After collecting their own rebound players rotate positions. The shooter goes to edge of the shooting circle with the ball and the player previously outside the shooting circle joins the back of the line. Drill then continues.

Blue shooter (Blue 1) has the ball inside the circle. Pretend to shoot, with white 1 defending, instead of the shot, blue 1 pops the ball over the defender to blue goal attack(number 2) who has held her position with the defence behind her. Defenders stay in for 10 attacks. Attackers pass and follow and then go to the back of the line after shot.

White player 1 throws to Red player 1 and then follows in to mark and catch the rebound from the Red player's shot. The White player returns the ball to the next player in their line and joins the back of the Red player's line. The Red player in turn joins the back of the White player's line.

There are five players on the outside of the circle, with three balls between them, two attacking players and one defender inside the circle. The players inside the circle have to move around the circle quickly, calling for the ball. When they receive the pass they need to pass to a player outside the circle without a ball (not the same player who passed to them originally) without having the ball intercepted by the defender.
