I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
ive noticed that i can shoot very well on my netball ring at home but i cannot shoot very well anywhere else. I dont know why this is and i was wondering if anyone could help me?
what is the best way for a netball goalkeeper to defend ?
Where should I position players on the court for a throw-in from the backline?
Can someone please advise me on where can I locate sound information on court systems? Thanks. Wendy
Hi, what do people think about defences "zoning" - keeping their attacking player (GA or GS) out of the circle? I notice not many teams use this strategy. Thank you.
Is a defence allowed to block a shooter from entering the circle with their body but not using their arms?
Can anyone please give me some training ideas for defending the lob pass? Back in my days (too many ago to mention) we were taught to stand off and slightly to the side of the attack to discourage the lob being made. I haven't found much on the internet to help me with this one
How can a coach teach accuracy in goal shooting? Our team has 40 odd shots for goal in a game but the most we have scored is 14!
In the drills GK dancing & Prevent the Middle Pass..is the defence Open Marking(angled toward the passer)? If they are closed marking is this a progression? Is it harder? I prefer closed marking but for a beginner is this going to be harder? Thanks. I am new to coaching & loving Sportplan:)
Has anyone got any ideas about shooting drills using only one player
Ive got 2 girls that have never played before and they keep driving to catch the ball into the thrower's space, i've tried to tell them to move out the space and even spent a whole training session teaching the team how to use space on the court but they still keep trying to catch the ball next to or just in front of the player, does anyone know any drills that encourage driving away from the ball and down the court away from the thrower?
I am trying to find some games that teach little ones about positions in court, any ideas? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
Hi,I'm trying to teach my 11/12 year old's to be ready and jump for rebounds. Is there any specific drills that can help me with this?
I'm a gk and really struggle to mark a holding shooter. Does anyone have any helpful tips ? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
I like the idea of teaching set plays to stop my girls swarming the ball, but wasn't sure what set plays to use! Are there any on this site or can anyone share their favourite easy ones for 8/9 yo's
We have finals coming up and the GS we are playing on is 6ft 5inches and we have no way of stopping her. She is strong and gets every rebound because she can out reach all of us. The only benefit is that she can't shoot very well and she cannot jump, although it doesn't really matter since she gets the rebounds and is taller then any of us can jump
Defending a lob into the goal circle
We currently use standard plays, but looking for different movements to make when a centre pass has been made.
Can a shooter or defender stand under the goal ring with arms raised waiting for shot to be taken if they are within 3 feet of opposition player. They are not defending the player taking the shot. eg: GA was taking shot, GD was defending the shot. GS was standing directly in front of GK with her arms raised waiting to see if shot was to be rebounded.
We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks
