Attacking Principle: Reverse Pivot to outwit the defence in Set Plays!

The session focuses on enhancing your players attacking skills, introducing and developing the 'reverse pivot' to lose and outwit your opponents.

Preview Plan

Description

  • WD and GD will start in a stacked position, one behind the other with the WD in front
  • The C will start just inside the centre third to allow the WD and GD space
  • Both players will split and go in opposite directions to make an offer for the ball
  • The WD is likely to receive the ball
  • The GD will then change direction and drive down court to offer for the next ball from the WD
  • The C will receive the ball from the GD - they must ensure they time their movement correctly

Coaching points

  • The split must be convincing and 2 offers must be presented
  • The player in front will lead the split - if they go right, the player behind will go left
  • Players should make strong drives when offering for the ball
