Netball: Time your Drive!

Three is the magic number! Get your players to make the right decisions when defending - mark, block or intercept?

Get your players passing in front of their team-mate's and driving onto the ball with this passing practice session

Maximum of 8 players form the outside of a circle with 2 defenders inside and 1 ball.

Defenders have to work together to intercept the ball and should communicate to each other by calling who is marking the ball and who is marking the space in order to work more effectively.

Players in pairs with 1 ball between them.

They have to keep possession of the ball by passing it around and running into spaces, whilst 1 or 2 catchers are nominated to try and intercept the balls.

When a pair lose the ball, they move out of the area and those intercepting continue to do so until all balls have been intercepted OR a time limit is reached.

Feeder (Blue 1) throws the ball against the wall.

Blue 2 faces the wall and reacts to catch the rebounding ball.

Progression: The worker must face the feeder and turn as the ball is released.

Split the group into minimum of 3 people with one ball per group.

Player 2 runs to the side to receive ball from player 1.

They then turn and feed the ball to player 3 (the next player waiting in line).

Player 3 feeds the ball back to player 1 as player 2 moves quickly through to try and intercept the pass.
