Community | Decision Making Triangle (Defence) 2

Sharon Baker Coach, England

DESCRIPTION

Posts set up in a triangle, 1 with a ball, 1 attacker, 1 defender The attacker needs to give and recieve the ball to each post once. They then make a fourth pass to any of the posts and look to recieve the next pass outside of the triangle. The defender is looking to make the passes as difficult as possible with close man-on marking, but can then come off body to go for that final fly out of the triangle.

COACHING POINTS

In this drill we are looking for players to: be resilient! For the defenders this has to become their bread and body - working hard, dictating space, holding up attackers, which will then be rewarded!Feet under body, eyes up, body angled to see ball and attacker at all times. Decisions about which balls to let land, which to challenge, and how to try to force a final pass in a position they have the oppotunity to fly on.
