One player(GS) stands with cones placed 3ft away from her in a circle or semi circle, the other player starts behind and comes around staying behind the cones to ensure they are more than 3ft away And gets their arms up. PROGRESSION: After a few goes Yyou can take the cones away and see if your defence still remains 3 ft away from the player without the cones to guide them, if they are having trouble put the cones back down and work through it more before taking them away again.
Make sure the girls are paying attention to the distance between them and the other players feet before they put their hands up to defend. Once the defence has the 3ft and put their arms up ensure they are using correct defence techniques (up On the toes, pushing the heels down low to stay balanced with both arms following the ball or using a clock movement)
