Working in groups of 3 The feeders pass the ball back and forwards to one another. The defending player runs in to claim an intercept pass, always slightly angled towards ball. 1. Start wide of the feeders 2. Move closer to one of the feeders 3. Move behind the feeder 4. Challenge: how far can you move away?
Defender is ready to go - light on toes and knees, use of arms for momentum Always able to see ball and attacking player with ball possession Run once the ball has left the feeders hand; committed to the drive! Keep feet under body, avoiding a lunge onto the ball, light quick steps Feeders are not trying to "trick" the defender in any way, but they should also not send the pass if the defender has moved too early and is in the path of the ball already. As the defender moves further away and behind feeders, look to come around cleanly and cut in front and as far beyond the feeder waiting to catch (towards the ball)
