
SKILL FOCUS: Passing and receiving EQUIPMENT: Hoops, netball ball & rugby ball. WHAT TO DO: Place two hoops that overlap in the center of the netball court. Place two hoops at the quarter line that overlap at both sides of the court. Place two hoops at the post separate from one another at both sides of the court. Two learners will sit in the hoops that overlap facing each other. They are not allowed to move their position. The learners at the post will also sit in the hoop but they may stand when they receive the ball to shoot a goal. On the word go the blue team will start with ball (netball/rugby). They will decide which side they will play towards. The defenders may try to hit the ball away to prevent the pass. If the defenders prevent the pass the red team starts. variations can be applied: Learners stand in the hoops thatâs placed next to each other. Let learners line up on the quarter lines in different hoops.
Make sure the learners include all the players on their team. motivate bounce passes. Use the rugby ball every second time the team starts.
