Player at the top of the circle receives the ball with his/her back to the goal. Then turns with one touch, either left or right and shoots at goal. Shooting with either the flat reverse stick or the forehand.Each time the passer runs to the circle to become the next receiver and shooter.

Quick Shot Relay Shooting & Go...

The practice starts with the first red player dribbling their ball to the goal line before passing the ball back to the player who is on the penalty spot. The player receiving the ball then shoots at goal and the player who made the pass (red player 1) carries on their run to the penalty spot to replace player 4. The same happens on the left hand side and the practice continues to loop around alternating from the the right and then the left.

Player 1 feeds player 2 on the run in the grid. Player 2 then feeds player 3 on the run in the grid. Player 3 then plays a wall pass with player 4 and shoots.

Hockey: Run beat player and ru...

Players are in pairs with one ball between them. Player on the left starts to run with the ball towards the back line. Other player tries to overtake this player (pretend defender chasing back) and run towards the far post. The player with the ball has to change direction when the other player runs past the ball. and run with the ball to the top of the circle to commit the keeper and pass the ball to the other player to score the goal. They both return to the half way line and the swap roles for the next go. Next pair go as soon as the goal is scored.

Players in the middle pass the ball out to their respective wingers. The winger receives the ball, and moves down the wing to then cross the ball back to the original passer, who has run into to the circle.

Players set up as shown in the diagram. The ball is pushed out to the stopper at the top of the circle, who then proceeds to stop the ball and roll it into the circle. The striker then looks like they are going to shoot before hitting the ball to the left hand post for the injector to score.

Set up: Split players into two teams (no more than 5v5 - set up several mini-games if necessary). Pitch marked out with 2 goals. Size will depend upon your players' ability and numbers in the group but 20m by 10m is a good starting point. The Game: This is an invasion game and the aim is to score a goal by rolling the ball through the oppositions goal. Rules: Roll only to score. Cannot move with the ball, defending team must be a metre away from the player with the ball. <div class=&quot;&quot;practiceText&quot;&quot;>If the ball hits an attacking players' foot in open play the ball is given to the defending team. If the ball hits your team's foot from an attempt at goal then a penalty is awarded. The penalty is taken from behind the half way line and only one player can defend it from the corner of the pitch. On the coach's call of &quot;GO&quot; the attacker rolls the ball and the defender can run across to defend the shot.</div>

Work on the rotation. This is the standard pattern - Left-Right (L-R) rotation, and will be made reference to in the next few drills. Player 2 receives and immediately slides the ball at an angle down the outside right channel to 4. 4 receives on frontstick and rolls strong outfield. 4 then hits to 6 who receives and shoots.2 then passes to 1 who slaps ball at pace to 3. 3 receives and slides ball down outside left channel to 5. 5 leads in a “hooked-shaped” manner to receive the ball going forward.On receiving the ball, 5 dribbles to cones in the top left and plays 2 options: (A) a reverse dribble or (B) a double dummy.5 then hits the ball to 6 who receives and shoots. The next ball is already moving down the right side.Unopposed drill to start with.
