King Ball Conditioned Games - ...

This is a game where you learn to pass the ball beyond defenders, to players in space. No aerial ball allowed. Two teams positioned either side of the 23m line. One player from each team goes to the end zone behind the opposing team. The team with the ball has to try and pass the ball into the end zone behind the defence. Whoever makes the successful pass can join the player in the end zone. The aim of the game is to be the first team to have all their players in the end zone behind the opposition. The ball can only be won by the opposition intercepting a ball on the way to the end zone or back.

Game with 2 teams. Both teams have two goals to score in. This is to encourage teams to get the ball out of congested areas into the open spaces. Play 5 vs 5 in a 23m area (width of the full pitch and the length of a 23 metre area).

Play 5 vs 5 or 6 vs 6 with goals facing to the side line (can also be played with one goal positioned on the top of the circle turned to the back line and the other goal 15 metres inside the half way line facing away from the other goal). Teams try to score a goal, encouraging players to go deep.

4v4 Endzone Game Conditioned G...

Set-up the pitch as shown. Place one player from each side in the opposite End Zone. Players have to try and get the ball to the player in the End Zone for them to then score a goal. Only the designated players are allowed in the End Zone.

Island Bulldog Moving with the...

All the players with a ball must try and get from one side to the other without having their ball taken from them by the defender. If they are tackled then they also become a defender. None of the players are allowed on the islands (use cones to mark off these areas). The last player to be tackled is the winner.

Multiple goals4 - 5 goals on the pitch, two teams.Teams score a goal by passing through the goal to a player on their team.Players in the team with possession need to keep changing position, constantly making themselves available ahead of the ball.

2 teams try and score by running the ball into the scoring zone. Rules are: You can only pass the ball back of square. The defensive players are not allowed to go beyond the line of the ball. For the rest of the time, players can run with the ball and tackle.

Score at goal 1 and 2 = 1 point.<br />Score at goal 3 = 2 points.<br /><br />If team A scored a goal at 3, team A should straight away change direction and try to score at goal 1 or 2.

The defenders aim is to take the ball out of the 23m area in control <br />and the 3 attackers aim is to try and score a goal. 3 v 3 plus a keeper.

Netball rules - 1v1 Progressio...

Have 2 equal teams and 2 goals in a 23 m area. Players play a 7v7 game with the following rule: When a player is in possession they are not allowed to run with the ball - they can only pivot on the spot while looking for a pass. Players have to move into space to create options for a team-mate on the ball so they can look to receive the ball. The defending team can only intercept and put pressure on the player in possession of the ball (no closer then 2 metres).

Hockey: Practice to learn the ...

The defending team forms a line on the half way line of the pitch (in this case the 23m line).<BR>Any player from the opposition that runs beyond the line of defence, should be very tightly marked while inside the 1/2 court. Every time the attacking player runs back out. The defender should stop on the defensive line. Every time the team playing 1/2 court gains possession of the ball they should have a fast break situation. It is important that only 2 out of the 5 players should take the opportunity of this break, and not the whole team, because on losing the ball you still want to be able to continue playing the 1/2 court.

Hockey: Receive in the ball in...

Play this game with two equal teams of players in the middle area and two Jokers. One jokers stands at each end of the playing area and has to stay in this grid (the scoring zone). Every time the team in possession passes the ball into the scoring zone and receives the ball back from the joker they score a point.

Inside out - Indoor hockey out...

Because of the similarities with indoor and outdoor hockey it is beneficial for the teams to practice indoor style games. Two 6 a-side teams, 2 goals, half a pitch. Put down 2 lines of cones from where the short corner is pushed out from on either side of the goal. Important: put down spare balls all around the outside of the pitch to allow the teams to pick up the nearest ball to where the ball rolled off, and continue the game immediately. The rules for this game, as with indoor hockey, are no hitting and no lifted passes.

1 v 1 choose

Two attackers run together at the same time with a ball each. Attackers can dribble through any of the three goals. The defender has to choose which player to tackle.

4 vs 2 from a sideline ball Play wall pass with LM and look for forward options. LB plays ball to LW, LW should keep the line free then the player can receive the ball, turn in field or attack down the line.

Attacking from the back

Team 1 has to pass the ball around the back and never miss out more than 1 player. Whenever the ball is received by one of the wide players they have to try and get to the half way line without being tackled by one of the opposition wingers. This tackler can only be released by receiving the ball and leaving it in their coned area. When the player running to the half way line is closed down by one of the tacklers they should try and switch the ball around the back. Team 1 is not allowed to pass the ball through the coned area.

Attacking the circle

Player 1 runs down the wing to then pass the ball backwards of square to player . He in turn gives the ball to player 3, who has run into the circle and then come out to receive the ball. Player 3 then plays a 1v1 with the defender.Rotation 1 to 2, 2-3, 3-1.Same down the right wing.

Changing the point of attack

Player 1 starts with the ball and runs down the wing. The defender puts on some pressure . Just before player 1 loses the ball he/she turns away from the defender and passes the ball to player 2 or through a zone with defender 2 in it.(This defender can only try and intercept the pass). When player 2 or 3 receives the ball he/she plays the ball to player 4 who runs into the circle and has a shot at goal. The players follows his/her pass.Pass and follow sequence 1-(2 or 3)-4 (defender 1 and 2 should be switched every so often).

Disguised Kicking

Setup the practice as shown. Two players putting pressure on goalkeeper. Coach feeds the ball for the goalkeeper to kick through the attackers. If the attacker intercepts the ball then they shoot at goal.

The ball is fed into the goalkeeper in the middle of the goal. The goalkeeper has to kick the ball back to either player A or B.

3 v 2 set up.A defender inside the circle passes to one of the attacking players outside the 23m line. On doing so the three attackers try and break quickly to score past the defence.

Short Corner Defence 2 - 2

Setup the defence as shown with defenders on each post and a runner on each post. Player 1 runs to the top of the circle with Player 2 running on their right hand side, but only 3/4 of the way out. Player 2 is their to put pressure on any slip left or pass back to the injector. Players 3 and 4 are responsible for protecting the posts as well as picking up any rebounds off the keeper's pads. Also should be ready to adjust in case the opposition perform a set play
