Creating off the dribble

Start in the guard position 5 meters above the three-point line just off center at the top of the key. Spin back the ball as if receiving a pass from another guard. Meet the pass with a quick stop, drop step and drive through the elbow for the shot. Rebound the shot and dribble to the sideline, do a spin dribble and return to the key to execute the drill to the other side on the elbow.

Dribble the ball all the time the ball is in possession. Start in the guard position, off center in the key. In a stationary position while on the dribble, stutter step towards a direct drive to the basket for a power move. Alternate the direction of the dribble drive each time you return to the top of the key. Do 10 shots going in each direction.

Players are stood in each corner of the court with two players stood in the center circle. On the coach's signal players 1 and 2 start dribbling before passing to players 3 and 4 respectively who return the pass. Players 1 and 2 then dribble further before passing to players 5 and 6 and moving towards the elbow of the free throw line to receive the return pass from players 5 and 6. They then immediately pass to the players 7 and 8. Players 1 and 2 should now replace players 5 and 6.

Number Shooting Game

Split all your players into two teams and have them line up on opposite sides of the court. 2 basketballs are placed at mid-court. Each player is given a number (eg. 1-5). The coach will set out a basket that each team will shoot at. The coach will call out a number. When the number is called out, the corresponding number will run out to get the ball, dribble to the basket and keep shooting till the shot is made. Once the shot is made the players will run after the ball and dribble it back to the center circle. The first player to score and get the ball back to the center circle wins.

Feet wide apart, crab across the centre circle;Hands raised as if defending, try and spread yourself wide, maintain stability;Touch the centre circle line with outside hand when you reach it.

This drill needs 1 passer and 1 player posting up ready to shoot the basketball. The pass will be made into the post, once the player receives the ball they will drop step, jump stop and shoot a power move off the backboard.(Watch the video to see the footwork of the move)

Start position is on the block. Toss the ball to the free throw line extended at the three-point line. Jag, step and cut to catch the ball in a quick step. Take the ball to the shooting pocket and forward pivot into the triple threat position facing the front pocket. Do a shoulder fake towards the free throw line and drive on a dribble to the baseline taking a shot from about 8 meters.

The player will jump off their inside leg and shoot with their outside hand. Once they have shot they will get the rebound and shoot with their other hand on the opposite side of the basket. 4 Minutes - Normal layups with backboard 4 minutes - reverse layups with backboard 4 minutes - normal no backboard 4 minutes - reverse no backboard

Players dribble around the outside of the cones (in the same direction).On the whistle all players have to change direction

Pass and Move Passing - Basket...

Seven players with two balls. One player is based at the circle of the free throw line (Player 2). Player 1 passes to player 2, player 1 who makes a cut and goes for a hand off pass. Player 1 passes to player 3 and goes to replace player 3. The same happens on the other side of the court using players 4, 2 and 5.

Setup players as shown.Player 1 starts with the ball and player 2 makes a run before making a L cut towards him before receiving the pass. On receipt of the pass player 2 then dribbles to the cone before making a jump shot.

Players take it in turns to dribble at the cone and then stop right in front of it and dribble all the way around the cone with controlled fingertip dribbles. Once a full rotation has been completed then you move on to the next cone.

Set up as shown in diagram.If the player makes the shot, then they will go to the back of the line and the next player will shoot.If a player misses a shot, then they will go stand by the cone (this place is called the "hot seat")If the next player makes the shot, then the player on the "hot seat" is out.If the next player misses then the player on the "hot seat" goes to the back of the line and the player who missed takes their place on the "hot seat".The winner is the last person in the game.

Players set up a circle with one defender in the middle and one ball per group. The players on the outside of the circle must pass the ball and try to keep it away from the defender. The defender stays in the middle until they steal or deflect the ball. When that happens, the pass who threw the pass will become the next defender.

Start with 5 players on court as attackers.Ball starts on half way. 3 players at top creating a triangle, 2 players under hoop.Player with the ball passes to the 'strong side' and stack. Ball is passed around. Any player can put a shot up as long as the triangle is maintained. Players still hold triangle formation around the key - this gives options on offence.

Players set up as shown in video clip. The line of players under the basket will each have a basketball. A pass will be made from the line on the baseline to the line at the top.<br /><br /> Once the pass has been received that player will take a shot. The passer of the ball will run out and do a close out with their hand up to contest the shot.<br /><br /> After the shot has been released they will turn and box out to get the rebound.

Players pass the ball to the coach or a feeder just inside the key and run immediately after passing towards the basket. When they are in a prime shooting position they should stop, turn and prepare to recieve a return pass. As soon as the feeder sees the player is ready they should pass to the shooter who then attempts to score.

Players are lined up in 2 lines near half way. 2 balls in rotation. Player from one line runs out to receive a bounce pass from opposing line, players take a shot.
