3 Man Passing Drill 2 Basketballs

The person in the middle will receive the basketball from the player on the side, once the person in the middle has the ball they will throw it straight back to the same person. They will then turn to the other side and repeat this. They will continue to repeat this until they reach the half way line. Once they get to the half way line the players on the side lines will turn and dribble back. Once they get around 20 feet away from the basket, one at a time they will perform a "give and go" or 1-2 pass for a lay-up.

Player 1 makes a pass to player 2 before sprinting to receive the pass back from player 2. Player 1 then has a shot.

Player 1 passes to player 2 (can be the coach) before making a run and then cutting to the next cone to receive the pass. Player 1 then dribbles to the next cone before having a shot.

2 players with one ball, 4 cones. Player 1 chest passes to player 2 and then turns and runs to the cone behind them, touching it before returning to the starting spot to receives the return pass from player 2. Player 2 does the same as player 1.

Two players with one ball. Player 1 passes to player 2 who goes diagonally to the first cone, touches it and returns to the starting point, before receiving a pass from Player 2. Player 2 does the same as Player 1. They then give another pass and go to the second cone before repeating process.

Three man switch to shoot and ...

Player 1 starts with the ball in the middle of the court and plays the ball to player 2 who cuts in to the first cone. Player 2 must then pass to player 3 who has also made a run inside to the other cone further up the court. Player 1 in the meantime should loop on the outside behind player 2 to receive the ball back from player 3 and take a shot.

Player 2 makes an L shaped cut and then sprints to receive the ball from player 1, who then catches the ball, pivots and shoots.

Players set up a circle with one defender in the middle and one ball per group. The players on the outside of the circle must pass the ball and try to keep it away from the defender. The defender stays in the middle until they steal or deflect the ball. When that happens, the pass who threw the pass will become the next defender.

Player 1 dribbles diagonally while player 2 cuts behind them. Player 1 gives a hand off pass and player 2 dribbles away, change the direction and then go for another hand off pass and continue all the way down the floor and finish with a lay up shot.

Begin this move with a fake to the middle. Move off the lane about 5 meters to face the other sideline. Toss the ball into the middle of the lane and jab step and cut to the ball and catch chin and shoot a 2 meter jump hook. Take twenty shots on both sides.

Players make good V cuts, receive pass from player with ball, assume triple threat position. Everyone rotate one spot clockwise.

Player 1 dribbles from corner to the top of the 3pt line. Pass to player 2 who dribbles towards the corner. Player 1 now makes an L cut to basket and receives pass from player 2 for the shot.

The offensive player will come from the opposite side of the lane to post up on the block on the ball side of the court. To get around the defensive player the offensive player will lift their arm over and step around the defensive player. Once the offensive player is in front they will have a very wide stance, showing a hand target where they want to receive the basketball.

Player 1 passes across to player 2.<br /><br /> Player 1 will then cut around the cone near the baseline and back up towards the 3 point line.<br /><br /> When Player 1 gets to this position player 2 will pass to player 1.<br /><br /> Player 2 will then run around the cone and cut towards the basket where he will receive a pass from player 1 and shoot the ball.

Two players with one ball, Player 1 passes to Player 2 once the player has passed the ball they have to go to the distance marker 2m away and turn to receive the ball back again.

Ghost play at the end of a ses...

Finish every session with ghost play. The best place to do this is a side court in a sports hall where you have a wall or access to a throw bag. If there are no walls or sports bags then use a spin back. Imagine being in a game situation making passes, moving off picks, posting up and rebounding. Make all the plays imaginable. Always be an offensive player doing all the scoring and controlling the game completely. Pass off the walls, rebound off the wall and through outlet passes, bring the ball up to court and even take foul shots. Do all the things you would do in a real game. Cutting off pick to catch and shoot. Keep the score close playing to 20. If one team gets to close tip in some miss shots to bring the game back close. Have the game ties at 18-18, count down from 10 seconds or tip in the miss to win.

This drill requires 3 players around the basket with one feeder/coach. The ball is thrown up at the basket, the players will battle for the rebound.

Players stand 10 feet apart. The basketballs will be passed back and forth to each other. The player must control the basketball with the hand the ball was passed to.

Split the group in two at opposite corners of the court. Setup as show. Players run to the half way line, make a turn and then receive the ball from the opposite corner before having a shot from roughly the free throw line. Once the player has had a shot they collect their ball and run to join the queue.
