Community | Intercept (Team Defence)

Sharon Garner Coach, England

DESCRIPTION

Working within a limited space, could be a netball third, or start smaller and expand. 3 attackers, 3 defenders within the third and 4 defenders on the outside. The attacking players are looking to manage 5 passes with the ball without interference. The defending players on court will be marking the attacking players to limit the space (high and wide) and always putting a 3-foot mark on them. In other words, they are looking to encourage a lifted pass. The defenders around the outside of the area can take one direct drive to fly on one of those lifted passes for the intercept. You could start with attackers only being able to walk or jog and build intensity.

COACHING POINTS
