I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.

I have a personality clash between my GK and GD and am about to go to tournament with them? Any advice on how to sort it quickly???
How do I motivate a netball team going into a tournament final
i have begun to coach an under 11's team and they don't talk to each other or work as a team and i was wondering if there was any good tips to get them to do so?
What to say to the team at half time to keep them motivated?
Hi all, just checking what people's thoughts are on either playing the best combination or giving everyone equal time during a finals series. Throughout the season, everyone has been given a fairly equal run but I'm not sure what to do in the finals and would like to hear people's ideas. Thanks
Recently I have noticed some of my team members have started being nasty towards each other on the court and negative towards others. It is affecting their game and everyone else's. I also have a player complaining about another player behind her back. How do I get my team to become more positive towards each other and re-iterate that we need to get along and encourage each other?
HI Peoples,I am helping with a team of 10 year old girls. They pickup various skills quite well but I noticed when we played another team the other day - the other team was very focused. No mucking about or getting distracted. Our team is hard to talk to them because they are constanly playing with balls, talking between each other etc.The question is how to get this disclipline in the team without being a tyrant?
Anyone who has refereeing experience??Can a referee go upto a team after speaking with the opposing team - saying I I appreciate in netball everyone can become competitive, but enough is enough and I am not having it anymore".Apparently the other team had complained to the referee about too much contact going on in the game? The referee did not mention anything to the coach/captain but went directly to the team.Thank you
I am part of a social netball team and some of our players play for a competitive league. They have recently been taught by their coach this technique as GD and GK to scream out, really loudly, phrases such as "RIGHT" "LEFT" "IVE, GOT THIS" as the GS or GA are in the process of shooting. They say that it's not demeaning phrases such as "MISS" and "PSYCH" so it's not intimidating, yet they are using it as a technique to put us off shooting. Should this be allowed or should it be called up for intimidation?
I have a team of representative players who don't talk or communicate enough. Whats some team building and drills I can use that will encourage this? Thanks
I am coaching girls who are in year 8 high school, so around the 13-14 age group. It has come to my attention that there is one particular girl in the team who "lords" it over one other girl at school. Tells her things that she thinks she is doing wrong and basically criticises her style of play. The girl who is being picked on was so upset she did not want to train this week and told her mother she wanted to leave the team. How do I combat this?I have already had one session with the girls about being a team and supporting each other and being better people. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears for this particular girl...
Hi all.....Just curious on how everyone approaches a pre-game team talk and any suggestions you might have for a group of 17 year olds? Thanks, Lyn
What are ways you can fire up your team before taking the court? during our warm up we seem pumped and ready to go, but soon as the whistle goes we seem to be extremely flat and make way too many mistakes. we are a strong team but we have to play catch up because of our first quarter. are there certain things we can add into our warm up to make sure we are all ready to go? or does anyone have a good speech that always say before a game starts?
Just starting out coaching 10-year-olds. I want to do a motivation/team build exercise. ie you're part of a team but you are developing personally etc would love some suggestions :-)
hi everyone, I coach an under 9 netball team. As usual we have a variety of skill levels in the team. On Saturday, we lost by a lot. That didn't trouble me - it was the attitude of a few girls that really disappointed me. They gave up. They stopped running, staying with (or even near) their opponent, stood still with their hands by their sides and refused to play.AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I sat them down after the game and said that I don't care about the score board, I care about your effort. When you stop trying you let the whole team down. When you look like you can't be bothered, that leaves me feeling like I can't be bothered either!Ok, what should have I done? help please oh learned coach friends! Thanks, Melissa
