Bullying between team-mates

I am coaching girls who are in year 8 high school, so around the 13-14 age group. It has come to my attention that there is one particular girl in the team who "lords" it over one other girl at school. Tells her things that she thinks she is doing wrong and basically criticises her style of play. The girl who is being picked on was so upset she did not want to train this week and told her mother she wanted to leave the team. How do I combat this?I have already had one session with the girls about being a team and supporting each other and being better people. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears for this particular girl...

I went through this problem last year and i was the one being picked on. You have two options. 1. have a firm talk to the team and say if this continues you will be kicked off the team and then after the talk with the team talk to the bully.

2. kick the bully off the team.

i hope i helped. Goodluck.

Not a good situation at all.....coaching is often less about netball and more about dealing with people managing.
I'm not sure I can offer much but one thing I do with my girls is have a team debrief at the beginning of each training session and we go through our previous game.  I tell each of the girls what I think they can work on, and then something I thought they did well in the game.....perhaps you could reinforce the good things the kiddie who's been upset has been doing and the fact she's following your coaching instructions as part of feedback to her.
I'd probably also be looking to have a conversation with the queen and her parent and just explain that one of the teammates feels intimidated by her and is there anything going on there.
I follow a coaching group called Proactive Coaching and their focus is building team/personal character as part of the sport coaching.....initially I thought it was all a bit wishy-washy but having read much of their facebook posts and some of their books I've adopted it in my team and it works a treat. They often have posts on issues similar to this so maybe take a look at their FB page.

Can you tell me more About Proactive coaching? please

Where can I read up about it ? Website will be helpful?
