Hey Donna - Is this a social issue or a skill issue? What position is this girl? Age group? At training perhaps split the group in 2 and play a "game" across court. One of the rules is that every player has to get a pass. Simple but effective. Another one is simply have them all moving in 1 third of the court to find a space - Pass ina ball and again everyone has to receive the ball. Another alternative is to put her in a key position (no idea if she is capable of this?). This may force them to use her. If it's social - then perhaps "the talk" is necessary to the team. Lots of "team" drills sounds like the way to go - no guarantees for us coahes I'm afraid. Hope some of this helps a little
Hi Donna, sounds like a social issue. As per Kylie, small group activities where you have to force the players to play together. Try allocating a small area to work in put one side on defence and the other with the ball, ball has to pass through EACH player to score a point. You can force this further by not allowing any player to receive the ball until all players have touched and doubling the number of times they need to have had possession of the ball. Point awarded to the other team if the ball team fails to share the ball.

Split circle defence is the system the top three NSL teams have built their identity around in 2026. The Goal Keeper and Goal Defence divide the circle into zones, switch in synchrony, and make every passing option look risky. Here is how to coach it.
Most netball shooters know how to shoot. The difference at the top is who can shoot when it counts. A structured 10-minute pre-game mental routine is the most under-used performance tool in club netball - and it is the simplest to teach.
The best Goal Defences in the 2026 NSL season are intercepting more than ever. The reason is not raw athleticism. It is a deliberate shift from chasing the attacker to driving into the flight path of the ball. Here is how to coach it.
