DESCRIPTION

An interval set looking to remind and encourage players to change pace and drive hard at an angle into the mid-court, They then clear at jogging pace, before taking on the drive once again. From corner, 2 players sprint to top of circle Jog out to transverse line, push off outside foot and sprint to central of transverse line. Jog out, then sprint to centre circle. Jog out then sprint to central on next transverse line Jog out then sprint to top of circle, jog out, then sprint to goal post. Jog back to start Repeat 4-6 times Progressions/Adaptations: Change movement types and use as a warm-up drill Pairs to race each other on the sprint section Whlst jogging through the pattern, sprint on coaches whistle (this also means they may also be changing direction at pace)

COACHING POINTS

- Good sprint technique, head up, slight lean in body, bringing knees up fast and use of arms to get momentum, sprinting at full space for 3-4 seconds. - Pushing off outside foot when transitioning from jog to sprint - Jog back is recovery and can be taken down to a wlk. KEY is that they have breathe back and second repeat is as strong as the first.
