Community | Transition from Defence to Attack (Depth, Width, Drive)

Sharon Garner Coach, England

DESCRIPTION

In this drill, we are trying to avoid the situation in transition when everyone is 'out' of position for attack (having just been defending) so just run away!! Variation 1: Working in pairs with a ball, the feeder gives anywheres then calls 'go'! Working player finds width before heading back in for lifted pass ahead of them. Variation 2: This time attacking player drives away to create their space, then pops back Progression.Have 2 working players. On 'go', they need to create alternate space - one going wide to find depth, the other heading deep to pop back. Progression: add in defenders Progression: Take into court relevant positions and react to sitautions where ball is intercepted, missed goals. Also relat to free passes, penalty passes
