I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
good activities for little children that has to do with netball? passing activities and shooting.
Hi, Are there agreed sizes of Netball for different age groups and where is this specified at an official level? What are the physical dimensions, weights and material recommended for different ball sizes / age groups? Thanks, Librarian

I am coaching 10 & 11yr old girls for the 2nd year purely because no one else wanted to do it - I've never even played netball and this site helps me every week, invaluable and we see tangible results. 1st year we won comp and championship, this year came 2nd in comp, champ starts this Sat. Two of the girls have told me their mums are changing them from this school team to another club (the one that won) next year 'cause "the coaching's not good enough for their child". All this teaches their child is that if your team isn't winning, go to another - forget about loyalty. Sometimes it difficult to take this on the chin. Any advice?
How domi deal with a player who does not attend training but yet wants to participate in league games. She is a good player but I feel she is missing out on training and how the whole team functions together and led eloping herself further. Also I have a player who thinks she is the best player in the team . She enjoys playing centre position which she is very good at. After half time I get her to sit out because I need to give ankther players who is totally as good as her to play centre as its fresh legs on the court, plus she gets a little tired playing centre. She feels she is capable of playing a full game and why does she have to sit out at half time. All the players are excellent players in the team therefore it's difficult to decide who to sit out and who to keep on??Please advise
Hi I have looked and looked but cannot find a definitive answer on fair team rotation. I have a team of 13-14 year olds and there are 9 in the team. There is one girl who cannot/will not play any other position other than WA, so I am very limited with where I can place her. My theory has always been that you shouldn't make too many changes, however, these kids expect court time... How can I manage them fairly?
So this year I have had multiple problems with a parent. I have been yelled at by her in front of the girls and parents at a game and she has honestly made my time at netball horrible. She has told me multiple times that my training isnât good enough and that itâs needs to get better, that I am in the wrong for sitting her daughter off for half a game, that the only reason I am coaching the team is because the club didnât give her the team and many more things. Last year the girls won the grand final and the year before they were runners up. (her daughter in both those teams)I am 19 years old and I have been coaching for 6 years and playing for 13. Safe to say I know what I am doing. I have gone to the club about her and they know what she has done. I am hoping I do not have to deal with her next year, but if I do does anyone have any suggestions in regards to dealing with this bullying. Thanks in advance !! Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
I have an u14 team who get the ball and move to quickly through the court hence they are always chasing the ball. How can I slow them down so they get more control? Iâve tried bands and getting them to reset so they are ready for the ball coming down the court but to no avail!!! Asked using Sportplan Mobile App

Just starting out coaching 10-year-olds. I want to do a motivation/team build exercise. ie you're part of a team but you are developing personally etc would love some suggestions :-)
hi everyone, I coach an under 9 netball team. As usual we have a variety of skill levels in the team. On Saturday, we lost by a lot. That didn't trouble me - it was the attitude of a few girls that really disappointed me. They gave up. They stopped running, staying with (or even near) their opponent, stood still with their hands by their sides and refused to play.AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I sat them down after the game and said that I don't care about the score board, I care about your effort. When you stop trying you let the whole team down. When you look like you can't be bothered, that leaves me feeling like I can't be bothered either!Ok, what should have I done? help please oh learned coach friends! Thanks, Melissa
