It is important to know where your opposition is at all times and to develop the skill of dictation to ensure your players are in control.
What?s in the Session?
The session begins with a fun warm up to get your players feet moving and become aware of their opponent. This will help your players be able to track their player and go for an interception. The session progresses to develop your defender's ability to dictate, so they are in control and dominant over the attacker. In turn, this will help your players work within a unit to force their opponent out of play or obtain an interception. ?Reward the Defence? provides your players with a great opportunity to demonstrate what they have learnt and work as a unit to secure possession. The session concludes with a modified game of netball, with certain conditions placed upon the game to get your players demonstrating what they have learnt.
This session helps your players develop their defensive skills in order to apply maximum pressure and increase your team?s chance of turning over the ball.
Use this plan to improve your players' zone defence skills, teaching them to work together to push the opposition wide, deny space and regain possession for your team!
Improve your attacking players' preliminary moves - to help them outwit their marker and get free to receive the pass
Develop your players understanding of the importance of fast footwork to deceive their opponent and gain more chances on goal.
Regular analysis of your own performance as a coach will ensure you continue to improve your ability to deliver top quality sessions.
Like many other international tournaments, we've had to wait a little longer for it to start but it's time to get excited for some big hitting!
