DESCRIPTION

  • Practise anywhere on the court using relevant positions.
  • Looking to have defenders on their back so can run unheeded in the directions indicated. 
  • Note that in this example C and GD are actually offering an alternative with their first movement. Ideally looking for at least 2 options on every sideline.

COACHING POINTS

  • This is not about setting FIXED set-plays, rather helping your players practise so they can recognise options based on what they have in front of them.
  • Setting up quickly for throw ins will help these scenarios so much less stressful in match play
  • As the player steps up to the line, eyes should be raised, ball ready in hand, and the set-up should be in place
