Thank you, what a brilliant site. Our team uses many of these effective...
Debbie

DESCRIPTION

  • In 4s with feeder either side and an attacking and defending player working in the space.
  • The defending player is looking to explore different ways of defending man-to-man.
  • The attacking player has to give 5 passes to one feeder, then 5 passes to the feeder.

Progression:

  • Attacking player looking for 10 passes from either feeder; defending player looking to delay/ minimise movement/ intercept

COACHING POINTS

  • Looking to keep feet under the body, taking them with you.
  • Standing upright, avoiding lean/contact onto the attacking player.
  • Trying different positions, t-angle, to the side, off the body.
  • Accepting that driving hard on every ball is exhasting and not always effective!
  • What are their criteria for success: doesn't have to be intercept? Held ball, limited movement for example.
