DESCRIPTION

  • Set up with 3 defenders in each third, who can only work within the third and can not mark outside or trailling posts.
  • Working in groups of 5 and rotating roles on each repeat: 2 attackers, posts on sideline in line with attacking player with ball, trailling post
  • Attacking partnership has to move ball all the way down the court successfully otherwise return to start and restart.

 

COACHING POINTS

  • Looking for definite movement both to shift defender and catch ball on the move
  • Varying speed and direction to keep defence guessing
  • Taking on defender to shift them, use of the posts to change up angles and options
  • Decision making to keep possession, being patient
