Jo, Netball Coach

DESCRIPTION

Red dotted lines indicate the movement by each player and black line shows the pathway of the ball.

WA is being double marked by the defensive C and WA.

  • GA drives out to receive the centre pass
  • WA then drives towards circle edge to receive the ball from GA.
  • GS should not be stationary and should move out of the circle and back in to draw their defender out.
  • WA plays a strong ball into GS - turn and shoot with confidence.

GA should make their way into the circle to be ready to receive the rebound if necessary.

COACHING POINTS

Create names for these centre pass drills so that you can easily take it into a game and ensure all players know what centre pass is going to take place.

In training, defenders will become aware of what is happening - mix it up and have WA and GA swap to receive the first ball.
