(i) player now makes a v cut, imagines the defender is over-playing him and makes a Back Cut or backdoor cut receive phantom pass.<BR><br>(ii) Receives the ball and shoots.

The down screen will happen away from the ball. The player receiving the screen will fake away from the basket and then back cut to the hoop where they will catch the ball and shoot a lay up. The player setting the screen will pop back towards the ball.

Phantom Fundamental Drill (ii)...

Players v-cut their way up and down the court, with their up in front of their chest (ready to catch an imaginary pass). Take 2-3 paces to the right and (cut) change direction and speed, then 2-3 paces to the left etc.<br /><br />In addition to this, when players hear the whistle blow they must stop as quickly as possible. A one count stop is executed. On the second blast of the whistle players can continue to v-cut their way up the court.

After passing P1 looks to receive the pass back after making a V-cut run and then shoots a lay-up. <br /> P2 &amp; P3 follow up for the rebound and then all rotate one spot anti so that the drill continues.

Setup the practice as shown. Player 1 starts with the ball with player 2 making a flash (sprint) cut to the elbow. Player 3 sprints to the cones in front of the before maing an L cut. Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2 who pivots and passes the ball to player 3 to shoot.

This is a pass and run to the back of the opposite line drill, with a v-cut movement before the pass. Player 1 starts in the triple threat position whilst 2 makes a v cut. Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2. Player 2 fakes a pass to player 1 who now cuts towards the basket. Player 3 (stood behind player 1) now v-cuts to the front of their line. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3. Player 4 (stood behind player 2) makes a v-cut to the front of their line. Player 3 passes the ball to player 4.

From the block do a spin back, drop step to the power box, lift fake from the chin position, jump step to a hook. Concentrate on not bringing the ball down below the shoulders. When shooting learn to keep the ball up from the chin position. If you move that ball even a centimeter away from that body the defender will be able to knock it away. Do twenty each side of the double drop step.

The player underneath the basket begins with a ball and tosses if off the backboard, simulating a rebound. They then pass to the point guard on the wing and sprints forward, while the player on the wing dribbles with quick feet through the cones. Once the player dribbling has reach the end of the cones, they will then pass to the player on the run for a lay up.

Two players with one ball. Player 1 passes to player 2 who goes diagonally to the first cone, touches it and returns to the starting point, before receiving a pass from Player 2. Player 2 does the same as Player 1. They then give another pass and go to the second cone before repeating process.

6 Players with 2 balls. The Coach decides whether to start the practice going clockwise or anti-clockwise. If you are one of the two middle people (players 1 & 2) then you change with each other once you have passed a ball. If you are on one of the corners then once you have passed your ball you exchange places with the person on your diagonal, e.g. Player 4 exchanges with player 5.

Players work in pairs and move around the court, trying to keep dribbling to a minimum. Before being allowed to make a pass the ball must pass through a gate, the next player must then also pass the ball back through a gate of the other colour. Players progress like this until they have made 6 passes.
