This is a great practice for players to practice passin and receiving on the move.
Set out 2 lines or cones about 5 meters apart in both directions.
about 10 cones in total.
one Player starts with the ball at the starting cone and has to pass the ball to the other player through the 1st horizontal channel of cones the the other player receives the bal;l and passes the ball back thtough the next channel, all the way this continues untill the last pass is received and the ball can be taken into the circle and shot at goal.
You should put the following restriction on the practice that when players make a mistake they should not continue and come back to have another go. The only way the players can have a shot is if they can go thorugh the exercise without a mistake
Once the players have mastered the skill you can continue the practice and time the pairs to see which pair can score the quickest goal from start 5 passes and the time stops when the ball hits the back board.
Player 1 dribbles up to the cone before passing the ball across to player 2. Players have to make sure that they give a pass in each box.
Passing & Receiving
Keep your right arm against the side of your body and turn the stick with your left hand.
Practices For Juniors
Split your group in half. The white team each has a ball. The blue team position themselves evenly around the coned area and remain static.
The white players make a pass to one of the static players but are not allowed to receive the ball from the same player so they must move around the grid to find a new ball.
On receiving a different ball, they then carry the ball and look for a new player to make the next pass to

White PlayerÂ passes the ball toRed player who runs in field with the ball to allow the white player to loop round .Red Player passes to Blue player Blue player on receiving the ball runs infield to allow the red player to loop round. Blue player passes the ball to the white player and the practice repeats until a shot at goal.
Movement off the ball
- Elimination Skills - Utilise the V-drag skill - Rapid change of direction from left to right - Drive towards red cone, use large drag to bring the ball towards the back foot - Explode out at 90 degrees towards the cone - Pass to the next player
Common mistake the ball being run by the side or behind the body you can see that the feet are also not pointing forward but slightly to the side.
This practice is good to teach players to run the ball in front rather then by their side and to close to the feet. Ask the player to not move their feet while trying to push the ball as far forward as possible. Just before the player loses their balance they can start moving their feet while keeping the ball at the same distance throughout their run.
This exercise is very good for teaching players to run with the stick at the right angle. Make the players run with the ball with both their hands near the ground. and tell them that after a couple 5 meters they can come up slow to where they feel comfortable. This normally makes the players run lower then they where and also makes them keep the ball in front of them while running

Coach's objective: Drag from left to right thus creating time in which to pass to the right Purpose : To drag the ball backwards and away from an imaginary opponent Players work individually and can use a cone to represent the imaginary opponent.
Ball each players have to stand next to the ball with the ball on the right. On the whistle the players should turn towards the ball spread their feet either side of the ball bend down and put the stick behing the ball. This would be the position the ball should be stopped. Repeat the practivce lots of times to make sure every player understands the position. Then progress to the passing of the ball in pairs.

Player practices the foot pattern in isolation. Strating in the middle and stepping out with their right foot to put their foot at 4 and back.
