DESCRIPTION

Coach's objective:

Drag from left to right thus creating time in which to pass to the right

Purpose :

To drag the ball backwards and away from an imaginary opponent

Players work individually and can use a cone to represent the imaginary opponent.

COACHING POINTS

Adopt a ski posture
Look ahead (in direction of arrow)
Move right to left with stick in contact with the ball
Place the left foot on the turf and pivot on it (in the direction of the small curved arrow)
Open the body to the right by moving the right foot (in the direction of the large curved arrow)
Drag the ball as fast as possible using the reverse stick
Accelerate away (to space) with the ball to the right
Eyes looking up in direction of movement

To teach the drag from right to left followed by a change of direction and movement back to the right to find space

Purpose :

To exploit space on an opponent's reverse stick as a result of the defender denying the ball carrier the opportunity to cut back

Structure :

Players work on their own.

Video Techniques

V-Drag & Roll Strong:

- Perform a V-drag and then roll strong
- Can perform 2 practices per rotation
- V-drag from left to right at first red cone
- Roll strong at blue (1st run) and yellow (second run) cones
