SET UP Start with two players with balls around one of the transverse lines two players towards the sidelines about halfway through the centre third two more players a few metres behind the other transverse line. Additional players can line up behind the two players with the balls. The players with the balls perform a âthrow and goâ to the players in the centre third driving down court to receive the next pass around the opposite transverse line. The players in the other goal third must perform a quick preliminary move and then pop to the side/on a quick angle to receive the opass, then pass back to the driving players, who have continued down the middle the court. The âpoppingâ players then cross sides on a strong angle up the court, taking care to communicate with each other to avoid colliding, and receive a ball from the opposite thrower. While this drive is happening, the players in the centre third perform a quick preliminary move and then take a strong drive further down the court, to receive a ball back where the drill started
The focus should first be on the timing of the preliminary moves, to ensure the players are ready to receive when the driving player is ready to deliver the ball, Also on the placement of the passes â out in FRONT and on extension so the receiving player can continue at full pace, with slowing or breaking stride. Working together and communicate

A ready-to-run Halloween session for High 5 and junior netball. Real drills in spooky costume, with a warm-up, a technical block, a decision-making game and a finish.
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
