What can I do on my first lesson back with my aged 7-11 aged girls? (Year 3-6 in school)! Any idea will be really good!

Hi Seren,
For this young age at the beginning of term, I would simply create a session focused around passing strength and accuracy, getting them to understand what pass to use and when. Even if they know the passes you can never practice enough and it is good to dust off the cobwebs. I would advise a session like below:
In pairs - demonstrate the correct technique (this can be found in our fundamentals section) and get them to repeat:
- 50 Chest passes
- 30 Right-handed shoulder passes
- 30 Left-handed shoulder passes
- 30 Overhead passes
- 30 Two-handed bounce passes
I would then put them into a drill to get them practising this whilst on the move, for example four corners.
I would also get to them play small sided games of possession to highlight the importance of keeping control and accurate passing, for example 10 passes to score.
Finally, finish with some match play. You can set certain conditions on the game for example only chest passes or the ball gets given to the other team. This will mean your players have to come in front to receive the ball.
Hope this helps.
Thank you! Have you got a number I could message instead of doing it all on here?

in more ways than one
The early 'shoot from anywhere' era is over. Smart teams now use data-driven decision models to decide when the two-pointer is worth it.
The short pass is being penalised more consistently in 2026. Here's how to train proper passing technique and eliminate hand-offs under pressure.
No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
